I had the honour of touring with Riverdance for 9 years.The lessons I learned on the road are invaluable. I’ve been reflecting on them a lot recently, and these are just a few to begin with.The biggest one? Confidence isn’t the goal. Connection is.Confidence comes and goes. People ask me all the time, how do I look and feel confident? 💃Dancers especially. But honestly, it’s not just a dance question. It’s a human one. The performance you want to shine in. The interview you’re nervous about. Putting yourself out there more. The conversation you’ve been avoiding. The thing you want to start but keep putting off. We’re all doing the same thing. Waiting to feel confident before we move. ⏸️But … CONFIDENCE isn’t a personality trait some people are born with. It’s a RESULT. 💫A result of PREPARATION. I genuinely don’t know how I’d have got through the last year and a half without @sisterly_lab . The touring. The 6am flights. The weeks spent living out of a suitcase between Ireland and Nashville. ✈️It’s helped my endometriosis more than anything else I’ve tried.It’s also made a huge difference to my mum, which means the world to me. ♥️ I take it every day.
