Stone Symphony, 2026 Stainless steel, limestone H36 x W60 x D80cm In Stone Symphony, a rectangular sheet of brushed stainless steel is intersected by a roughly hewn stone. The metal collides with a piece of Somerset limestone that acts as a support but also crafts a tension between form and function. by @amystephensstudio
Performance of Time, 2026 Stainless steel, limestone H130 x W50 x D85cm Performance of Time acts as a grounding and reconnecting with the earth. There is a subtle immersion in motion, transformation and balance. The making process is visible with the front of the stainless steel brushed and the back left raw. In this sculpture, architecture infiltrates the object, nature crosses into sculpture and a mineral defines the space. by @amystephensstudio
Seravezza (study I), 2026 Pink bronze, marble H18 x W10 x D13cm I have been working on a new series of sculptures where architecture and nature become intertwined reminding us about the symbiotic relationship at play. In this study, a surplus chunk of white Carrara marble sparkles with calcite crystals in the light. The rock is integral to the design creating a critical support for the pink bronze. The mirror polished surface reflects the metamorphic marble and immediate surrounding space back to the viewer. DM for more information by @amystephensstudio
One year ago today, Her Majesty Queen Camilla @theroyalfamily opened the Lovington Sculpture Meadow @dulwichgallery in London. I was delighted to be commissioned by Dulwich Picture Gallery to create an interactive public sculpture alongside fellow artists for the gardens. Waking Matter II, 2025 Marble, steel H403 x W150 x D120cm “Artist Amy Stephens uses ‘surplus’ marble from the Carrara quarry in Italy – famous as the source for Michelangelo’s Renaissance sculptures. By walking around and under Waking Matter II, we can reflect on the potential of art to emerge out of natural materials.” Dulwich Picture Gallery has seen a 60% increase in school visits in the last year so this is such an exciting time for public sculpture, community engagement and participation. Thank you to the Director @jenartscott and Creative Producer @alexmoorephoto for all your support. The garden is designed by Land Architect Kim Wilkie. This summer I have been working on new imagery that has finally taken form. Recent work in the studio has led to the fruition of a series of photographic artworks. Hood I-IX, 2026 Archival pigment prints H215 x W155cm set of 9 framed (each H62 x W45cm framed) Edition of 5 + 2AP This is a repeated image taken by the artist from the Hoodoos Trail located on Tunnel Mountain Road in Banff National Park. The main rock types that make up the surrounding area are limestone, dolomite and shale. The rocks are arranged in a tilted sandwich layer, which gives the mountain its prominent wedge or slanted block shape. This idea is abstracted by the artist and made visible within each image using colourful forms that overlay the black and white landscape. Please DM me for more information by @amystephensstudio
I have been working on a series of new sculptures that celebrate the local Carboniferous limestone in Somerset. The sedimentary rocks form unexpected relations with architectural metal armatures forging a sensibility that is both sculptural and ecological. by @amystephensstudio
Decennial: A Creative Legacy - A beautiful publication created by @artseen_contemporary to celebrate 10 years of the gallery in Nicosia, Cyprus. I feel honoured to have been part of this journey with such an array of incredible artists. From 3 solo exhibitions to an artist residency @nimac_cy to @vima.artfair last year. The geological landscape of Cyprus has become home from home. Congratulations @mariastathip - Thank you for trusting and believing in me but also for forcing me to take risks with my artistic practice. Here’s to the next 10 years. by @amystephensstudio
🔥 We are delighted to announce that Amy Stephens’ Rock Interlude is now part of the State Collection of Cyprus. @depminculturecy Created in 2025, Rock Interlude brings together limestone and brushed stainless steel, continuing Stephens’ ongoing exploration of the relationship between sculptural material, architecture, landscape and the body. Presented as part of Nature’s Stage, Amy Stephens’ third solo exhibition at Art Seen (Nov 2025 - Jan 2026), the work reflects the artist’s distinctive ability to transform natural and industrial materials into powerful sculptural encounters with place, form and presence. ⚡️We are proud to see this important work enter the State Collection of Cyprus and to have supported its presentation through Art Seen @artseen_contemporary Amy Stephens @amystephensstudio 🪨 Rock Interlude, 2025 Limestone, brushed stainless steel 200 × 83 × 35 cm State Collection of Cyprus @amystephensstudio @artseen_contemporary @mariastathip #amystephens #contemporarysculptures #artseengallery #cyprus #rocksculpture by @amystephensstudio
Rehearsal I, II and III, 2025 where architecture is able to infiltrate everyday objects, nature crosses into sculpture and minerals define the space. Polished stainless steel structures are anchored by pieces of surplus Cypriot rocks and minerals expanding the existing architecture and forming a codependency between nature and the manmade. Feeling incredibly lucky to finally be settled in my new studio and working next door to an array of other creatives. Located next to a quarry, the daily blast is a reminder of just how unique yet fragile our landscape is. Exciting projects coming together this summer. by @amystephensstudio
Last September, Waking Matter II, 2025 was installed @dulwichgallery by the Director @jenartscott and Creative Producer @alexmoorephoto Waking Matter II uses over 1 tonne of ‘surplus’ marble from the Carrara quarry in Italy – famous as the source for Michelangelo’s Renaissance sculptures.
