I paint to find quiet. Hopefully it finds you too. Abstract work, the female form, and colors that know how to behave together, unlike my children.

Tip Tuesday: I use pastel over acrylic to create depth and pops of color. I love mixing heavy body, high flow, soft body acrylics with both chalk and oil pastel! They all play a part in creating texture, depth and variety in my markings. taken in Seattle, Washington by @amystoneart

Install day! These guys are the cutest and I’m so honored to have this piece hanging in their entryway. It’s the best feeling when your vision comes to life which is why I love doing commissions!

Purchasing art can be really intimidating. I cannot tell you the amount of my clients that have told me one of my paintings is their first “real” art purchase. And let me tell you, that is THE BEST feeling ever. If you are looking for one of my pieces to complement a space in your home or office and don’t know where to begin, I’ve got you.

Midlife. It’s a total vibe. Am I right? Learning to embrace this new chapter no matter how insane it is. My younger son broke two fingers over the weekend. My older one is home sick from school today. I have a bunch of things to ship out (thank you!), and still need to do a bunch of laundry, eat 65 more grams of protein, walk 8000 more steps, foam roll, lift weights, do yoga, check in with my parents bc they are probably just learning about the broken fingers 😬, cook four different dinners, drink 50 more ounces of water, take the dog to the park and get to bed by 10pm so I can get at least 8 hrs of sleep.
