You guys, Dracula is getting goooood. Reading it in real time as things happen to the characters is SO much fun! It's been especially enhanced by the fact that I've been in London for the past few weeks where the majority of the story takes place, so it's been an extra immersive experience.

The story starts at the beginning of May (and ends in November), so put it on your calendar for next year! As hard as it is sometimes to stop reading and wait for the next day, I highly recommend reading it this way. Even if you're not usually a classics reader! by @amzreads

I savored this book for as long as I could because I didn't want it to be over! In the Veins of the Drowning was my favorite book last year (pretty sure my friends are sick of hearing me talk about it) and this is a stunning conclusion to the duology.

I was sooo happy to be back in this gothic, atmospheric world and overjoyed to be with Imogen and Theo again. The stakes are higher, the magic is darker, and the yearning and angst are off the charts! I loved how the tension continues in book two - we pick up right where we left off and everything feels heightened and even more compelling. Truly an incredible duology, I already can't wait to reread it!

If you're a fan of fantasy romance, sirens, dark magic, adventure, and epic longing, you cannot miss this!

I really debated whether or not I wanted this on my feed (still debating tbh) - it's pretty much the opposite of an aesthetic bookshelf post.

But this is why I haven't been around lately! I was out of town for work and this is the absolute disaster I came home to 😩 The entire living room ceiling just collapsed while I was gone.

I don't know the fate of my books (the shelves stayed upright but I had several stacks below them that ended up under everything) or most anything else that was in the living room, but the important thing is that I'm okay! And things can be replaced!

I spent most of today alternating between watching comfort tv in the hotel room and reading to distract myself and I really hope to get back to a normal posting schedule soon.

In the meantime, think of me when you look at your shelves tonight! 😂 by @amzreads

This was so fun! I know very little about tennis but this brought me right into that world and I had a great time.

I thought this would be a more typical contemporary romance based on the cover and blurb (they are very misleading in my opinion) but this is actually the start of a series that follows three women through their tennis and romantic tribulations (it's triple POV).

Even though it wasn't what I expected I ended up really enjoying it. I always love a good friend group in a romance novel and giving each story equal weight throughout the series is a fun and refreshing change. I especially liked the audio, it was engaging and really elevated the writing for me. As soon as I finished I wished I already had the next one; I can't wait to see what these girls get up to!

This was a very sweet, wholesome, and low stakes romance, though not the most memorable. I was initially drawn to this by the friends to lovers trope (one of my favorites) and the Chincoteague setting (a place I've loved since I was a kid). The Chincoteague part was really fun and I loved all the wild pony lore, but the transition of the friendship to something more was so super easy and kind of boring, honestly. Probably good in real life but not that interesting to read about. I just wanted a little more to invest in emotionally, both with the romance and everything else going on in the story.

I listened to the audio and did enjoy the narrator. Dual narration would have been nice given that the book is dual POV but she did a great job and it was an easy listen.

If you prefer a slow-paced romance without a lot of drama or you're looking for a sweet and easy read this might be the one for you!

It's National Astronaut Day! 🧑‍🚀

(AKA on this day in 1961 the United States had its first human spaceflight!)

There has been a lot of cool space stuff happening lately (Artemis! Project Hail Mary movie!) and I've been trying to mirror that with some of the books I've been reading.

This is a mix of read, TBR, and my current read, Gemini (which, fun fact, is supposed to be pronounced with a long E at the end - who knew?)

I recently got home from a trip and had this fun book waiting for me! What a great activity to do in the sunshine! I always love trying new crafts and latch hook isn't one I have any experience with so I can't wait to try this. I'm especially excited for the red panda one because I used to work with them but all three designs are adorable!

Happy Dracula day!!

This is my second time attempting to read this book, which is the text of Dracula according to the dates when the events in the book actually take place. It goes from May 3 to November 6 and last time (in 2024) I only made it through May before life took over 😬

I'm way more organized this year though and I've added the number of pages I need to read each day into my planner (in red, of course) which I think will really help!

Happy Saturday friends!

I'm a day late with this cover reveal because I'm traveling (at an international music festival - so fun!) but I can't not share this gorgeous new cover of one of my absolute favorite books ever!

This beautiful collectors edition will be out on August 11th and has teal sprayed edges, endpapers, and never before seen content! 👀 There will also be exclusive signed editions at B&N.

Methinks it's time for a reread!
