Hello my lovelies and welcome to An Inquisitive Mind - Illumination through Christ.

I am privileged to be living in answered prayers regarding the community I am surrounded by. Alongside, being able to see the fruits of the things I joined my faith in prayer for others coming to fruition.

It’s funny how God speaks to us
because as I was coming back from a work trip my taxi driver mid conversation shared I would be his last customer for the day. I looked at the clock, saw it was peak time on a Friday afternoon and He explained he made up his mind. This being as his body needed rest due to overworking himself the night before.

I know it may seem like a so what? What’s your point ? but his comment encouraged me - and I made sure to tell him. This being because in this day and age it isn’t the norm - as everyone appears to be on ‘go’ mode. Neither is it easy to recognise where we need to slow down, let alone follow through with making the changes to actually ‘rest’.

I surely can’t be the only one?

In 1 Kings 19, we see Elijah having received a threat which led him to become panicked and his thoughts spiralled out of control. Whereas, God knew exactly what He needed and provided for Him. This wasn’t a one off but however many times he needed it for the journey ahead.

I’m being reminded in this season that God is a good father, who gives us good things. So, I need not struggle or strive for He gives us just what we need, when we need it and is able to meet us where we are at.

As His children, we belong to Him and He loves us just as we are. We can trust that he will use it all to bring glory to Him but there needs to be a surrender. This is where we can receive true rest(oration).

Let’s pray:
Father Lord, I thank you because you are my hiding place in which I can seek refuge in. Please help open my eyes to see the things which may be distracting me from true rest in you, so that I can receive total restoration. I ask that you will also please help me instil greater boundaries with my; time, resources and money. This being so that I do not live by societies expectations of me, above your own and/or get caught up in a cycle of restlessness. AmenđŸ™đŸŸ by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello My Lovelies and Welcome to An Inquisitive Mind - Illumination through Christ.

This month has been so wholesome for me in many ways and I have been reminded of the fact that He is a covenant keeping God - our great redeemer.

I stand back in awe of God’s goodness for He is marvellous, awesome and mighty in all His ways.

This isn’t to say I haven’t gone through my own trials but a perspective shift makes all the difference. Through this I have recognised in order for God to do a new thing in and through us we need to have full faith that 1. God can do anything, 2. Be willing to move forward and 3. Recognise that yes, we will be tested but what we learn can be turned into something beautiful.

With that said, I will leave you to reflect on a few questions :

- Do you believe that God can do anything ?

- What do you need to leave behind in surrender unto Him?

- What will you learn from your season of testing?

Let us pray đŸ€:

Father Lord, I thank you for you are a miracle worker and continue to do mind blowing things in my life and for those around me. Please help my unbelief in anyway I may have limited you and re-ignite a fire in me that transforms me. This being so I can become intentional not just in words but in action. Please help me to perceive the new things you are doing in my life so that I will not be tempted to look back but rather ahead. I thank you for you are marvellous in all your ways - may I not forget that. Amen. by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello my lovelies and welcome to An Inquisitive Mind- Illumination through Christ. As noted in my previous post, I had started a personal study on the character of David which I have since finished and was left asking myself a few questions which I will ask you too.

How do you see yourself? Your sins, your strengths and your weaknesses? Can you be objective or are you always justifying your actions? Can you see your faults or do you pass the blame? Ultimately, what are you going to do about it?

As I read through David’s journey of ‘becoming’, I was reminded of how imperfect I am yet still valuable and worthy of God’s love. I was reminded of the fact that even whilst others may discredit me or find it hard to see my value it’s not their validation I should be seeking. Instead it is God I should be seeking, for He is the one who created me in His image and He makes no mistakes. I am me and that is enough, you are you and that is enough.

I was also reminded of the fact that we were created with emotions as we are human. Although what we do with these emotions make all the difference. Despite wanting David to be successful it was evident Saul did not want him to be better than he was. Once this started to happen this resulted in Saul’s insecurities escalating to the point of his undoing. It is important that we are able to celebrate the wins of others without this having to cause us to spiral. We must remember that our success, wins, victories and beauty doesn’t mean any less when others are celebrated too for the same. May God help us as all as we journey with Him.

Let’s pray: Father Lord, please help me to see myself in the way that you see me - precious in your sight. I ask that you will help me to see the value I have and shine your light in my life for all to see, so that you will be given all the glory.

Please remove every lie of the enemy that is causing me to see myself negatively and highlight the things I need to work on so that I can do and become better.

As I guard my heart in a world that so easily misuses ‘good’, please help me to remain in right standing with you so I can become who you have created for me to be. Amen x by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello my lovelies, I have recently started a personal study on David and so far I can see how throughout the many circumstances he went through he definitely made sure to let God know about it !!

Jokes aside - Yes, David made some mistakes (just like we all do) but the reason he is labelled as a man after God’s heart is because we see in 1st and 2nd Samuel alongside in Psalms how consistent he was in conversing with God.
Whether things had gone his way or not we see how David clearly expressed himself to the one who gave him the language to speak.

This is the same for us.

God gives us the language to share our pain, our confusion, our joy and our victory in Him.

He is there with us and remains a good God throughout it all but we need not forget that ‘nothing is a waste’. It can all be used for His Glory. This being to bring us closer to Him, to align us to His will - even for character development as my Pastor would say.

We can see that when we bring our emotions to Him, God is able to do the miraculous and use His power to create solutions to our problems. He can turn our lives around for good (Jeremiah 29:11).
Let us pray:
Father Lord, I am thankful for the good, the bad and even the in-between of which has led me to this point at which I am at today. I am grateful because nothing is ever a waste for you are able to turn my pain into joy, my confusion into clarity, my panic into peace and turn my life around for good.

I thank you for life because it is a signifier that I have the capacity to still hope and trust in you. Please help me not to listen to the lie that I am too far gone, or that this is the end of my journey when I make a mistake. Instead please help me rather to continually seek you in everything I go through.

I am thankful for what you have done, what you are doing and all that you are yet to do in my life.

Help me to remember that nothing I go through is ever a waste, for you will use it for my good. Let this be a source of encouragement for me and those around me. Amen. by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello my lovelies and welcome to An Inquisitive Mind. In Romans 14:7-8 (CEV), Paul states ‘Whether we live or die, it must be for God rather than for ourselves. Whether we live or die, it must be for the Lord. Alive or dead, we still belong to the Lord’. We can see that Paul was very clear in what he was saying as this was how he lived his life – for God alone.

Whilst in my teens an incident happened between my friends and I and I said to my mum ‘that’s it, I have tried and I want new friends’. She said to me ‘ok, but there are things you may do that they may not like and they still there for you’.

My mum wasn’t wrong and she didn’t judge me but that advice gave me a gentle nudge to look in the mirror. This is where, I had a big lightbulb moment which I now recognise was conviction from the Holy Spirit. This being as I was seeing things with a tunnel vision perspective thinking about how my friends had wronged me. This then resulted in me wanting to act out towards them. Although, this isn’t something God would want us do.

I shared this to highlight that even if our flesh may want to overpower the Holy Spirit in us - we must make an intentional decision to choose right (Romans 8:13).

We are called to remember ‘we belong to God’ and therefore everything we do ‘ It must be for God’ (Romans 14:7-8)

Reflection on action – Is what I am about to do true, pure, right, holy or proper? Would this effect someone’s belief in the love of God?

Let us pray: Father Lord, I thank you for your unconditional love for me and giving me another chance. I pray that you will help me to honour you in my speech, actions and thoughts. Please help me to keep my mind focused on what is true, pure, right, holy and proper and as I do so let my whole life prove that I belong to you. Amen ! by @an.inquisitivemind

Recently, I met up with a friend and we spoke at length catching up regarding our careers, health, friends/family and rounded up discussing what we were excited for regarding the rest of the year. It was a beautiful time where we had good food and reflected on 9 years of friendship. We have witnessed many different chapters and versions of each other which made me to further reflect on how mindful God has been of me in each ‘phase’ - good, bad and ugly. In each chapter He has remained the same - every step of the way.

I am sure you can also attest of how He has been mindful of you. I can see how life gets better, as I keep my gaze moreso on Him instead of the things that may be going on around me. No longer do I see the ‘wrongs’ or the ‘failures’ as the end of the world but in every ‘yes’ and ‘no’ given I am grateful as it has led me to where I am today. I attended a conference a few weeks ago where it was noted that God is good in both the breakthroughs and in the containment, in the success and in the failures. I honestly hadn’t thought of it in this way but what a beautiful mindset to have. With this knowledge, in all things why don’t we give Him glory and the praises He deserves ?

In your own time, reflect on 1. what you are focusing on at this time. If your gaze is in the wrong place it’ll be hard to see Him clearly. 2. How has God had your back? If you got what you felt you wanted at the time you wanted it would you have stewarded it well? 3.If your feeling restless or hopeless presently turn to Him, for He is our powersource and can keep you encouraged. 4. Don’t forget who He is in your life and what He is able to do. He is a God of suddenly and is able to turn matters around for our good.

Let us pray: Father Lord, I thank you for being so mindful of me. For you have been so faithful, kind and just over the years. As I reflect on your track record, I can’t help but sing of your praises forevermore. Please help me to remain at peace in the fact that you remain the same and never change. I put my hope and trust in you, as you align my life to your will for me. Amen x by @an.inquisitivemind

Whilst driving back from work and as I was stuck in traffic I saw ‘Jesus saves’ on the side road - which automatically caught my attention. It is a clear yet simple message but as I drove off I was left encouraged for the duration of my journey.

Considering my previous post - It acted as a reminder that His saving grace is available for all.
This is not a ‘forced’ or speedy process but as we continue to believe in His sovereignty it shall surely happen.

I hope you can rest in the assurance that He is our redeemer, restorer and is mighty to save us. This being from ourselves and the temporary things of this world.

With this said, there is no need to fear but by His Love and Grace He continues to save and cover us all. by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello my lovelies and welcome to ‘An Inquisitive Mind - Illumination through Christ’💡. I recently finished studying the Book of Acts (which is fully loaded by the way). There are so many lessons to learn about the Holy Spirit, transformation, sacrifice, community and so much more. Although, I felt led to share my reflections about salvation, the church and the body of Christ at large. I asked what my part to play was - in all of this and reflected on the question which I pose to you - ‘Do you care enough? If you do - how so? How much do you care about the salvation of your fellow brothers and sisters ?

I came to the realisation that I had not been as proactive as I feel I should be. Yes, I have an individual relationship with God but started thinking what about about my neighbour, my work colleagues, the ‘random’ receptionist at my dentist and even my friends.

I mean it’s all well and good saying I know the Lord but the good news is meant to be shared - not withheld. Although, once shared what do I actually do about it then? I appreciate not wanting to be perceived as too pushy, overbearing or uneducated but we see in Acts how bold and brave Paul was. He would travel long journeys, proclaim the good news boldly even knowing that it would land him in trouble (prison). We can see towards the end he even spent long periods of time with others and invested his own resources to ensure people not only ‘knew’ God but could ‘experience’ Him.

Proverbs 27:17 highlights to us that iron sharpens iron, so we must encourage and sharpen one another in the word of God. This is an important reminder and I hope to take action in ensuring I prioritise others salvation too.

Let’s pray -
Father Lord, please help me to make it a priority to become more proactive in winning souls for you.
I no longer want to be selfish...only thinking about myself but rather I want to be bold enough to encourage others in their walk. Let this not just be by my lips but by my deeds.

Please reveal to me the ways in which you want me to do so, and may I be effective in supporting them in their walk with you. Amen ! by @an.inquisitivemind

Hello my lovelies - to the originals, newcomers and those passing byđŸ‘‹đŸŸ you are welcome !!!

Roughly around two weeks ago, I was asked to undertake a task in church amongst some others. To be honest, initially I thought this was great and felt quite honoured but then for a brief moment I thought - ‘why didn’t they use x person instead?’, ‘x would be so much better to do this’ and ‘what if they change their mind?’.

This may come as a shock for those that know me personally because I would say generally I’m quite a secure person. Although, as I am growing more and more in my faith journey I can say that I haven’t ‘arrived’. There is still so much more for me to work on !!

With these thoughts in my mind, even if only brief, I then felt convicted shortly after. God reminded me of my value and that I’m not ‘too small’. However, my thinking was
.

It is so important that we meditate on scripture on a daily basis, so we don’t rely on the enemy to tell us who we are (not).

Funnily enough, I then felt led to read the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:30-52). A few things were highlighted to me :

- David was so brave and assured of his gifts, but also of the fact He had ‘the Lord - all powerful’ on His side.

- David didn’t see himself as small despite Goliath being of a bigger size, having more resources and/or having had a higher status.

- Despite all of David’s ‘perceived weaknesses’ he was confident and victorious. He knew where his help came from and also what worked for him - not others.

With that said, I want you to remind you that you shouldn’t dismiss the qualities you have or compare yourself onto others.

Please reflect on what God has blessed you with and see the value in this !

Let’s pray:

Father Lord, I thank you for creating me as I am wonderfully and beautifully made in your likeness.

Please help me to celebrate my uniqueness and encourage others to do so too.

Please remove every self limiting belief that is holding me back from seeing myself in the way you see me.

Please have mercy for the times I have given up, compared or complained about my gifting. I pray that you will help me shift my perspective and bring you Glory.

Amen <3 by @an.inquisitivemind

1.Modesty matters (1 Timothy 2:9)
Prior to arriving there I had always admired how clean, modest and stylish the locals dressed in this part of the world. Once there I was blown away at how both men and women presented themselves - quite regally.

Although, I wouldn’t say I wear the most revealing clothes but also in terms of my modesty journey I’m getting there (by His grace).

With that being said it’s not only about the outward appearance but it goes back to the heart ( it always is). I just think In all I do and how I present myself how am I glorifying God? This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t look ‘cute’ or ‘fly’ after all we are Kingdom ambassadors. What I am saying is that even though we should honour Him with our bodies this includes our clothing too.

2.Be still and know I am God (Psalm 46:10)

Another point is that I was truly able to rest in Him and slow down.

Spoiler alert though rest is not something you or I have to earn or strive for. How great is that - what a privilege that we can just walk-in freedom, wholeness and peace.

Yes, this world will make you want to chase the ‘clock’ , join in the rat race and distract you BUT the most important is the Lord. We can rest easy on Him and His plans for us.

3.Be curious - Be inquisitive - Be childlike (Matthew 18:3)

Overtime, I have started to realise I have become an adventurer and love to explore. As you know I am quite an inquisitive person but it was reiterated to me that this is how God wants us all to be with Him also. This being: curious, childlike and wanting to know more of and about Him.

As we age and societal pressures may start building up it is important that we need not lose our childlikeness !!!

4. I can live and have my being in Him (Acts 17:25-28)

At the end of the day, it is all about Him so we should not forget we can live, and be who we are in the Lord.

Our identity is rooted in Him and we are made in His likeness. Therefore, we can walk in power, live, move and step forward into freedom without the need to suppress our identity.

Christians can still have a personality (unsure If the Pharisees knew that).

‘Whilst waiting for the Blessing’ it is important we do not lose heart, for God is with us in every season and will allow things to happen at the ‘right’ time. With that being said I recently started a new role which has required ‘more’ from me but I can see how this new season is not as overwhelmingly difficult as it ‘should’ be. This being as He has been ordering my steps to where I am at now (Psalms 23:3).

At present, I am reminded of the fact that 1. I am more than the ‘things’ I have and don’t have. We must remember that this does not sum up our identity - He does 2. We have the choice to allow the waiting to increase our faith in God and the endless and marvelous possibilities there are. For He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask, think or imagine and 3. My choices do not solely impact on me but rather those around me too. How are we using the changes in our life to honour Him?

All in all, we musn’t forget who we are and whose we are - whilst in the waiting !

Let’s pray: Father Lord, I thank you for ordering our steps in every season. I pray that you will please help us to prepare well for what is ahead so we do not mismanage the blessings in store for us. Father Lord, as you require more from us please help us to prioritise you by meditating on your word and spending time to seek you with surrendered hearts that want your will above our own. Hello my lovelies, and welcome to An Inquisitive Mind - Illumination through Christ.

Whilst reflecting on Isaiah 64:8 I can better see what it means to say ‘I am but clay’. This is to subject myself to being moulded, stretched and used in whatever direction and in anyway the potter (God) see’s fit.

I didn’t understand before but I am realising now that this ‘sometimes uncomfortable’ process is actually an act of His mercy. This being because even though each step of transformation can be scary, overwhelming, and even exposing at times the question I was reminded of was : what right does the clay have to question the potter? As in what right do we have to question the Lord our God - the Creator? Yet I do it, and have done so more than once in my lifetime but I know I am not the only one. This isn’t to condemn neither you or I but rather to encourage us to re-align ourselves with Him.

We must be ready to be made into whatever He says we should be. This looks like having a surrendered heart unto God through resting and trusting in His word.

I hope this encourages you for there is no need to be afraid or worry because it is all in His hands. I am assured He will definitely make something beautiful - if we allow Him too.

So, I want to remind us that we can’t wish away the ‘process’ but we can give Him our ‘mess’ and He can use it all to build us up. Nothing is ever wasted !

Let’s pray :

Father Lord, I thank you that I am but clay and you are the potter which means as my father, I am safe in your hands. I thank you for moulding me as you see fit and I pray that you will create in me something beautiful. Please remove everything in me that does not reflect you well and help me in the becoming to endure the process. Amen x by @an.inquisitivemind
