Join us on June 3rd at St Pancras Old Church as we reach back five centuries to re‑embody songs and texts once carried by women and almost forgotten today.

Composers and vocalists Ana Silvera @ana_silvera, Lydia Samuels @lydia__samuels and Tomer Damsky @mc_slice, will be joined by Oud master and singer Nawras Altaky @nawrasaltaky and soprano Kate Huggett (Shards Voices, HOWL) @katehuggettsi will be drawing on medieval Iberian texts and rare musical sources to explore the deep musical and cultural connections between Judeo‑Spanish (Ladino), Sephardic, Arabic and Ibero‑Christian traditions, reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Woah, squeak - SOLD OUT! 🤯✨

Songs We Carry at the Aix en Juin Festival this Friday, 19 June, is officially sold out!

I’m especially excited because this is our very first date in France, and what a way to begin - performing as part of the renowned Aix-en-Provence festival in a stunning 12th century, 400-seater abbey with a mind bending 7-second reverb 😜

Thank you to everyone who grabbed a ticket. Can’t wait for this one. 🇫🇷🎶

Today is the release day for 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴, the debut EP of Balladeste (Tara Franks - cello, Preetha Narayanan - violin) x Ana Silvera!!! >> Swipe for BTS ✨🫀

Our collab together started with a simple question: what could we create if we aspired to only work with the voice, two string instruments and nothing more? What new landscapes would unfold, what spaces would be opened up, what challenges and rewards?

Whilst some pads (harmonium, a trusty Yamaha CS1 synth, a vintage Phillicorda) eventually crept in, we co-composed mostly true to this vision, shaping the songs in unique and interesting ways. Together, we’ve crafted a song-cycle of sort that explores the many faces of love, moving lithely between art song, folk, neo-classical and electronic musical worlds

Consider this your invite to join us on an immersive odyssey of the heart!

& a big thanks to everyone who made this possible including @helpmusicians for backing this project!
