I’m sharing some resources:

The New Arrival Wellness Clinic, an integrated, trauma-informed clinic that supports newcomer children and adolescents, as well as US-born children living in mixed-status families (ages 0-18, and 18+ if still in high school).

The clinic brings together a bilingual (Spanish/English) team, which includes a pediatrician, psychologist, and community health worker in a single extended visit. This approach reduces barriers to care and makes it easier for families to access medical, mental health, and supportive services in one place. They welcome referrals from community- and school-based partners for children who are foreign-born or living in mixed-status families and may benefit from primary care, mental health care, or both!

Summer is an important time to get school physicals completed, and they have openings in their next clinic on July 24th! The flyer attached includes more information, clinic dates, and locations. by @anabelizo

Just over a week ago, I had the privilege of helping bring together a leadership mixer and panel at @nexamp that welcomed 64 external attendees from 50 organizations across Illinois’ clean energy ecosystem.

What made the evening so meaningful was not just the turnout, but the mix of people in the room: renewable energy companies, policy leaders, workforce partners, fellows, @energyleaders alumni, and emerging talent, all in conversation about how Illinois keeps moving clean energy forward despite federal headwinds.

I’m especially proud that the conversation is continuing beyond the event itself, featuring a pv magazine coverage and follow-up partnership interest from companies like @patternenergy and @ddelectricllc2026

Today I had the chance to tour Bronzeville with Sherman “Dilla” Thomas, and I’m still reflecting on how much history, innovation, and hard truth are held within one neighborhood.

What stayed with me most was the reminder that preservation and progress are not always experienced equally. Too often, the poorest among us are the first displaced. That reality gives even more weight to the stories and community spaces that continue to anchor Bronzeville’s legacy.

From learning about IIT and Chicago’s first mini solar grid, to stops connected to Timuel Black, Roberts Temple, Chess Records, and the legacy of community builders across the South Side, the tour was a powerful reflection on who shapes a city’s story and who gets remembered within it. Powered by June: A Nexamp Solar Site Visit

Our Nexamp fellows visited a solar site in Rockford, IL, where they explored how community solar connects residents to clean energy savings through ComEd. The visit brought to life how households engage with community solar and highlighted a broader shift: local communities are being integrated into the renewable energy transition, not left on the sidelines.

This is intentional work: building opportunities for our fellows to see the infrastructure firsthand and understand their role in shaping the energy system of the future.

The future of energy isn’t just something we talk about- it’s something we’re scaling, right here in Illinois.

I can finally complete that “job-interview-bingo-question”

I don’t know about you; but I’m always asked “Share one thing that’s not on your résumé” or “what’s one thing a colleague would be shocked to learn about you?” and I can finally answer that.

After three years of living in Chicago, I’ve made it my mission to be deeply embedded across community organizations that are creating an impact in the local community.

I’m so proud to share with everyone that I sit on the advisory council board for Mujeres Latinas en Accion. I sit on a sub-group of the board that helps the organization raise funds through unique opportunities.

Since joining three months ago, without any prior experience, I’ve been able to raise just under $1000. I know that it’s not that much money in the grander scheme of things. But it takes some serious balls to ask people for money- especially during these. It’s mission aligned. Tonight’s conversation on data centers in Chicago made one thing clear: this is not just a tech issue; it’s about energy, affordability, water, transparency, and community trust.

As data center growth continues, the question cannot only be whether the grid can handle it. It should also be: how do communities benefit from the infrastructure being built around them?

Today marked my first board meeting since being onboarded in March, and I’m proud to share that I’ve joined the Leadership Board of Mujeres Latinas en Acción.

Founded in 1973, Mujeres Latinas en Acción stands as the nation’s longest-standing Latina-led organization—rooted in both advocacy and community.

I’ll be serving a one-year term, focused on driving impact for women & families across all communities in Chicago where women are present. This one is personal. I’m honored to be in this work and in my new community with leaders who are building with intention.

For young people, the moments that matter most are the ones that take learning beyond the classroom and into the real world. That’s where belief shifts, and students stop imagining their future in energy and start seeing themselves in it.

Yesterday, Nexamp hosted its first-ever Civic Design Lab: a hands-on design sprint where students from Project SYNCERE explored two powerful questions: What would our communities look like if they were truly built for everyone? And how can solar energy help us get there?

During the sprint, students chose to reimagine everyday spaces: a schoolyard or a CTA bus stop grounding their ideas in the places they move through every day.

The most profound moment was welcoming leaders from the Chicago Transit Authority , who not only helped students refine their ideas, but connected their thinking to real-world innovation. The CTA team shared how their Innovation Studio is actively testing new, state-of-the-art solutions across the system soliciting ideas from external innovators and responding to challenges in real time. Students were able to see a direct line between their ideas and what’s already being prototyped across the city: a solar-powered text-to-speech bus stop sign. I’m incredibly grateful to our dynamic leaders at Nexamp for collaborating across offices & teams to make this happen. This is the most profound piece of this event: we can do so much when we move together as one.

I can’t believe it’s already been a year at Nexamp- the top Community Solar company in the country. This past year, I’ve been proud to help drive workforce development initiatives that strengthen talent pipelines, support labor compliance tied to Illinois MES, and build meaningful bridges between community impact and business needs.

Some of the work I’m especially proud of includes strengthening in-house workforce development initiatives like the Greater Lawrence Technical School Co-Op, Solar Sunrise, and the Nexamp STEM Fellowship; helping lead three in-house subcommittees; and building an in-house engagement events tied to our communities and learning.

I’m especially grateful to Marion Jones, MPA for the trust and leadership she’s provided me throughout this journey. Her support has helped me evolve as a leader and challenges me to think not only with heart, but with strategic alignment to KPIs and BIG picture.

I’m grateful for the many teams I’ve had the chance to collaborate with across Nexamp from Clean Energy Deployment, Supply Chain, Construction, and Grid Integration, Energy Sales, Talent Acquisition, the People Team, Policy, and more. The patience and grace I’ve experienced while acclimating across teams has meant so much.

2026 will bring so much- I am proud to share I’ll be sitting on the Mujeres Latinas en Acción advisory council! On Thursday, December 4th, Nexamp was named the winner in the large business category, a truly proud moment for our Workforce Development team. We had the honor of accepting the Large Business Leadership Award at the 4th Annual Illinois Clean Energy Champion Awards.

This recognition highlights the impact of our work: nearly 700 MW of clean energy generated, 80+ new Illinois jobs since CEJA, and career pathways that open doors for the next generation of clean energy leaders.

Our workforce initiatives — the City Colleges Fellowship, Solar Sunrise, and the Nexamp STEM Fellowship — were celebrated, and I’m proud to help build and strengthen these programs.

Only nine months in, and we’re already bringing home awards.
