Well, tomorrow is the day! We are almost there! But you can vote early today as well.

What you need to know about me as you vote today and tomorrow:

I am a dedicated organizer, volunteer teacher, writer, parent, and 20-year community leader running for Rochester School Board.

A vote for me is a vote for:

-Elevating academic excellence: Championing high-quality math standards for 2027-28, early childhood screening and support, and structured literacy programs that give every student the foundation for lifelong success.

-Fostering belonging and well-being: Centering our schools around relationships and inclusion to improve daily attendance, increase graduation rates, and ensure safe, welcoming spaces for all.

-Accountability and collaboration: Committing to data-driven program adjustments, the RPS 2030 Strategic Plan, open communication with families, and financial transparency in all RPS operations.

-Protecting public education funding: Working to secure robust local, state, and Federal funding streams to fully support special education mandates and protect essential classroom resources.

For collaborative leadership, fiscal responsibility, and student success, vote for me, Ana Folpe, on or before November 3rd.

It was a nonprofit double header last night with @imaaroch and @achla.mn! I had a fun evening supporting these two organizations that do so much for Rochester’s many immigrant communities. I’ve known Ana Folpe for many years. Our boys grew up together, and over those years Ana became a dear friend. I’ve had the opportunity to see who she is when there isn’t an election going on: someone who cares deeply about kids, families, education, and this community.

That matters to me, and it’s a big part of why I’m voting for her.

I appreciate the way Ana thinks about education. She wants us to get the fundamentals right, especially literacy and math, while also giving students opportunities for academic growth and career exploration.

I also recognize and appreciate that Ana is willing to look ahead. AI is changing education quickly, and she understands that Rochester needs to pay attention to what other schools and communities are learning and be thoughtful about how we respond.

She also cares about responsible stewardship of the district’s resources, making sure families feel that they belong, and making the work of the Board more understandable and transparent to the community.

Ana is thoughtful, prepared, and genuinely committed to public education. It’s is no surprise to me that the Rochester Education Association has endorsed her as well.

Ultimately, for me, it’s also personal. I know Ana well. I trust her judgment, and I know how much she cares about this community. I’m proud to support her for Rochester School Board, and I hope you’ll join me in voting for her on or before November 3.

A reminder for this weekend! I recommend voting in costume at the County Building. I think it might give staff a boost. But remember, no political garb at the polls, tempting as that might be...

Free parking is available at the bagged parking meters directly in front of City Hall for voters visiting the early voting location.

But wait, there’s more! Rochester Public Transit (RPT) is offering a way for voters in Rochester to get to the polls on Election Day. On Tuesday, November 3, anyone using public transit to get to their polling place may do so for free. Riders can simply tell the driver that the purpose of the trip is to cast a vote and no fare will be charged. I’m pleased to announce that the Ana Folpe for School Board campaign has been awarded the 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction. I join them and tens of thousands of volunteers in advocating for gun violence prevention everywhere, but particularly in our schools and other education settings.

Sadly, gun violence has become the number one cause of death for children and teens in the U.S.

We are fighting for gun safety policies that are proven to save lives, including:

-Background checks on all gun sales, to ensure dangerous individuals can’t buy a gun with no questions asked.

-Red Flag laws, which give families or law enforcement a way to temporarily remove guns when they pose a serious threat to themselves or others.

-Laws encouraging or requiring secure storage of firearms to protect children and adults by preventing unintentional shootings, gun suicides, and gun theft.

-Getting assault weapons — weapons of war designed to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible — off our streets.

No one law can stop all tragedies, but there are critical, commonsense steps — with strong bipartisan support — we can take now to keep guns out of dangerous hands.

The good news is, RPS is doing pretty much everything it can do to prevent gun violence on campus, including limiting access to buildings, providing mental health resources and inclusive environments, preventing bullying, and working to educate community members about the risks to children and students when guns are not properly stored. RPS has a strong MOU (Memo of Understanding) with RPD and a good community policing environment at the district as a result. Our state and federal laws need to catch up to make students truly safe, with common sense gun legislation.

If I am elected to the Rochester School Board, I will continue to advocate for these policies to keep our students, staff, and communities safe from gun violence. by @anaforschoolboard

I’m proud to support Ana Folpe for Rochester School Board!

Ana is the only school board candidate I know personally, and I can tell you she is the real deal. She’s well-read, smart as a whip, deeply involved in our schools and community, a dog lover, and just an all-around good person.

Ana has been involved in the DFL for years, and one of the things I appreciate most about her is that she’s the kind of person who will talk to anyone. She listens, she cares, and she brings both intelligence and kindness to the table. Those are qualities I want in someone helping make decisions about our children’s education and our community’s future.

Ana Folpe, along with Jean Marvin, Justin Cook and Cathy Nathan, have my support for Rochester School Board! Let’s get out and vote for people who care about our kids, our schools, and our community. And don’t forget to vote yes on the Constitutional Amendment!

Kelly Klein, Chair, Indivisible 507 by @anaforschoolboard

For the past decade, I have worked side-by-side in Olmsted County politics with Ana Folpe. While school board leadership is nonpartisan, the qualities required to work in public service are universal: dedication, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to our community. Ana Folpe possesses all three in abundance.

Over the last 10 years since I have known her, and for 20 years in Rochester, Ana has proven to be a trusted organizer and volunteer. She knows how to listen to diverse perspectives, manage complex organizational goals, and keep things on the right track within budget. That kind of stable, long-term commitment is exactly what our school district needs right now.

Ana isn’t just stepping up for this race—she has been doing the hard, behind-the-scenes work to support our community for two decades. I know her integrity, her work ethic, and her passion for our kids’ futures. I am proud to give Ana Folpe my full endorsement for Rochester School Board.

I met Ana in a preschool classroom many years ago when both of our boys were small. Having known Ana for years as a parent, school volunteer, RPS employee and active community member, I am proud to give my full endorsement to Ana Folpe for the upcoming Rochester Public School Board election.

Our community needs leaders who prioritize student achievement, support our hardworking teachers, and manage our tax dollars responsibly. I have known Ana for 18 years, and have seen first hand her commitment to our schools and community. Through her involvement in PTO organizations at all of her children’s schools, and the school garden at Bamber Elementary, she has consistently listened to families, advocated for transparent communication, and supported robust learning activities for our children.

Ana has the collaborative spirit, common-sense approach and integrity required to create an excellent education for every single child in our community. Please join me in voting for Ana Folpe for school board on or before November 3, 2026.
