Over the past weeks—and months—I’ve been busy co-initiating backyard society (@back.yardsociety) together with Martina Lussi (@martina_lussi).

A decentralized, nomadic art space that connects artistic, sonic, and social practices in ever-changing spaces. With a focus on community, experimentation, and exchange, it creates room for connection and collaboration. Exhibitions, performances, and encounters unfold in diverse settings.

We’ve been planning, organizing, staging, curating, caring, and hosting our first show:

She Takes the Space—She Holds the Room, which opened on June 5.

This FLINTA* exhibition features works by Sara Gassmann, Laura Mietrup, Katrin Niedermeier, Sarina Scheidegger, Gloria Tomasini, Samantha Zaugg und Selina Zürrer and held performances by Samantha Zaugg, Agnes Leclaire & Ligia Tarcea and Sarina Scheidegger.

We activated our first location—a house in Arlesheim (BL).

We are thankful for all the help and the support we got along the way.

I’m happy to share a few impressions from this beautiful opening, which truly warmed my heart and made it all worthwhile.

Love Letters, 2024, 168 x 105 mm, 72 pages, digital print, German and English
 Beginning of this year I wrote 14 discursive essays compiled in this palm sized book.  The texts combine everyday notes, personal anecdotes, diary-like entries, while reflecting on my artistic practice and developing an unique language through a performative writing process. Love Letter focuses on the engagement with materials, materiality, and language.

Lots of love to all my friends and family for their support and for listening as I read these texts to them throughout my process! A big thank you to the SMAA Residency @stmoritzartacademy, which allowed me to focus on writing in the beautiful winter wonderland of Engadin. Thank you, Rosmarie @romalela , for your proofreading!
