BRUJAS They called them witches. History called them pioneers.

Fifteen years ago, I wrote BRUJAS, a play about extraordinary women who were condemned, persecuted, silenced, and crucified, literally or symbolically, for daring to think differently.

Women who questioned the rules of their time. Who spoke when they were expected to remain silent. Who challenged power, religion, politics, and society’s expectations of what a woman should be.

From Hypatia and Christine de Pizan to Joan of Arc and Anne Boleyn, BRUJAS brings their stories to the stage and reminds us that many of the women we recognize as pioneers today were once considered dangerous.

Fifteen years later, I believe these stories need to be told more than ever.

🎭 Now, I want to bring BRUJAS to the stage, and I need your help.

❤️ Be part of bringing BRUJAS to life.
Donate to support the production, or if you represent a business, theater, university, organization, cultural center, or community and would like to host a presentation of BRUJAS, please reach out.

Help us raise the curtain and give these women their voices back.

Because the women history tried to silence still have something to say.

📚 Fuente: USGS — The Science of Earthquakes.
📚 Fuente: USGS — New Madrid Seismic Zone.
📚 Fuente: USGS — Induced Earthquakes.
📚 Fuente: USGS — Earthquake Hazards Program.
📚 Fuente: USGS — Earthquake Monitoring.

I’m sometimes as unbothered as this cat, in the middle of crowds in my own mind, with my paw almost in the electrical switch about to get shocked, and an instant before I remove it, because the universe, the energy, GOD, or just the vibe take care of me.

Tonight Kings of Leon play at ACL Music fest, I should go and listen to them while I float in the lake. Or quite frankly I may just have nine lives too. by @anaperezworld
