Come closer, I’ll tell you a little secret. 🤫
A blank you really love + an illustration you actually want to see there + the right placement for you.

The idea for this drawing came to me straight away: I wanted the fingers to look like they were greedily, almost ravenously, licking the record. The flowers are there to soften the intensity a little. 🫠 That’s how much we love vinyl around here. 😁

Side A / Side B came just as quickly.
But where should it go: center of the chest? Off to the side? Smaller? Bigger?

At first, I thought there should be more happening on the front. On some of my other T-shirts, there is. But for this particular pair, I ended up choosing the quieter version.
And also sometimes you’re dancing next to someone in a really good T-shirt and, let’s be honest, it’s much easier to shamelessly stare at a back print for ages than at the front. 😏

So, same illustration, two versions:

The first custom tee is officially in its new hands 🙌🏻✨

Valle @martingala_galaxet came to Pluto about two weeks ago, tried on the tees I had there, and then decided he wanted a proper custom. So that’s what he got 😏

He chose the blank, picked his favorite illustrations and decided where everything should go. Front, back, shoulders, edges, around the neck. We leave the sleeves alone because they need to be rolled up 😌

At some point it stopped being just a custom T-shirt and turned into a little APo gallery 💘

I couldn’t give it to him myself and didn’t get to see his reaction in person, but Oktay @oktay.909 filmed it for me. And when I watched the video, I just had the biggest smile on my face 🥲😁

It’s such a perfect win-win: he’s happy wearing my work, and I’m happy seeing him so happy in this tee 😍🤩 taken in Valencia, Spania by @anastaskapo

One of the results from my first TouchDesigner course.

About a year ago, I tried to learn TouchDesigner on my own using the official documentation. I managed to understand a few things, but mostly I felt like a tiny shrimp in a gigantic ocean. I even bought a recorded course and couldn’t start it. The sheer size of TouchDesigner made me freeze.

So I realized I needed a person. Someone who could guide me through this abyss, explain its logic, and make it feel safe not to know things yet.

And I found exactly that.

In six classes we explored an insane amount of stuff, but most importantly, TouchDesigner stopped feeling alien. Now I’m starting to understand its language, and I’m completely fascinated by it.

Following chains of nodes, figuring out what affects what, and suddenly having that WAIT. SO THAT’S HOW IT WORKS moment is ridiculously exciting.

And I love that the result doesn’t always have to be what you imagined. Unexpected things happen all the time, and instead of thinking “I did it wrong,” you start thinking: “Wait. What is this? Let’s see.”

TouchDesigner is still an abyss. But with a good flashlight, the abyss becomes somewhere you actually want to explore.

So how did this tee happen? 👀 Tiny mushrooms in the front, a whole different situation on the back…

I really love mushrooms. And before you think anything, I mean eating them. 😁 Especially I love to explore amanitas. And again, you can think anything. 😏

When I was sketching ideas for the 33/45 club (the persiana project), I wanted something slightly acid, cosmic and music-related: a hand holding a vinyl record, with all this energy and sound coming out of it.

The sketch was actually part of a bigger group of ideas I was making at the time. Some were for the club, some I already knew I wanted to turn into a whole series later. Which is exactly what happened.

Then, when I started thinking about the T-shirt itself, I didn’t want to just put the whole illustration in one place.

So I split it:
tiny mushrooms in the front,
big hand + vinyl + all the chaos on the back.

I also wanted this version to be more accessible without using a shitty blank, so I found this one made from 100% recycled material.

I’ve actually been looking for a vest like this for years.

I got obsessed with them when I was surfing in Sri Lanka. I kept finding these perfect oversized sleeveless tees in little surf shops there, and loved how easy they were to wear.

Then I went back to Russia, later lived in Turkey, now I’m in Spain, and somehow I could never find one that felt quite right again.

Until I found this Portuguese one.

It’s oversized, super summery and has exactly that surfy feeling I was looking for. Girls can throw it over a bikini or a crop top, and it looks ridiculously good on guys too. Especially with nice shoulders. So boys, shoulder day 🫡
