I have recently tried Radhaballavi, Aloor Tarkari and Amritti from the Jalajog store at Gariahat! Loved the taste and hygiene at the store! 💛

P.S. I was too busy enjoying the taste of the sweet to take a photo! 😂

I would go again to try other food items soon! 🤗

Fritters or telebhaja are popular in Kolkata, especially during monsoon.
This one in the photo is called Egg Fritters or Dim er Chop in Bengali. Boiled egg and mashed potatoes are coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried!
It is served with salad, kasundi/mustard sauce and tomato sauce at times. 🍽️😋

📍This is from a popular shop called Shankar Cabin at Golpark.

Remembering Mishti Singara (Sweet Samosa) from a popular sweet shop in North Kolkata - Amrit!

This sweet looks like a typical singara or samosa but with a twist in its filling. Unlike its savoury cousin, this sweet is stuffed with khoya kheer& other ingredients, deep fried and soaked in sugar syrup!

Have you tried it?
