After a tough 2-day tournament up in Chatuge, I planned to rest. But my old buddy wanted to go, so we hit Lanier together—and safe to say it was the right call! Stuck some good ones, including this quality largemouth, on the @strikekinglurecompany KVD Elite J300 Jerkbait.

I’m running it on the NEW @lews_fishing HyperMag reel paired with the NEWLY Tuned Up KVD Signature Series Jerkbait Rod (6’10” MH Fast). If you throw jerkbaits all day and suffer from hand or wrist fatigue, this feather-light setup completely eliminates that problem.

Chatuge was a total grind this weekend. Post-front conditions made the fish extremely skittish. Day 1, the fish were there but the size wasn’t—caught a bunch of little ones, but not enough to make the board.

Day 2 was no different. Thick fog delayed blastoff, and the fish were even more finicky than the day before. Slick calm waters and minimal wind—they’d track a jerkbait, but wouldn’t commit. Adjusted on the fly, found better quality, and managed to move way up the board, but still came up short.

Caught ‘em all on my favorite setups:
• @lews_fishing KVD Elite Spinning Rods & Reels: GS4 (7’2 ML XFast) for the Dropshot, and the GS5 (7’2 M XFast) for the weightless KVD Caffeine Shad.
• The NEW Lew’s Hypermag paired with one of the lightest rods I’ve ever used—the NEW Lew’s Signature Series KVD Jerkbait Rod, throwing the @strikekinglurecompany KVD Elite J300 Deep Jerkbait in Matted Sexy Shad. That matted finish will ALWAYS get ‘em when it’s slick, calm, and sunny. Snapped it hard, found the cadence, and it was MONEY.

Didn’t bring home a trophy, but man, I loved every second of the grind this weekend. Ready for a quick break and back to it down the road! LET’S GO!! taken in Lake Chatuge, Hiawassee Ga by @anbradyfishing

When it comes to throwing a crankbait this time of year, a lot of those bass are staging in that 8- to 12-foot zone. The crankbait I'm reaching for every time is the Strike King Elite 3XD in Summer Craw. That color does an incredible job of mimicking a crawfish, especially after we've had a lot of rain. That bright chartreuse and green combination really stands out in the water and triggers some violent reaction bites. It's one of those colors that consistently gets the attention of bigger bass.

The Elite 3XD is a compact, subtle crankbait that gets down to the perfect depth quickly and stays in the strike zone. When you run it through the right area, if a bass is there, it's hard for them not to eat it. Another thing I love about the Elite series is that it comes tournament-ready with Mustad Triple Grip hooks. Those hooks do an outstanding job of keeping fish pinned all the way to the boat, so when a big one bites, you've got a great chance of putting it in the livewell.

For me, the Strike King Elite 3XD in Summer Craw is hands-down my go-to crankbait and color combination this time of year. It catches numbers, it catches quality, and it simply gets the job done.

A lot of exciting things are coming out from Lews and for this year ICAST 2026 releases they have totally revamp the entire Lews Signature Series Rods with better components, and a better rod blank, which made them extremely durable and super strong and extremely lightweight and on top of that they release a updated version of the Hypermag but the difference is this time they’ve added the PARAMAG ITB Braking that helps angler prevent backlashes. It is a wonderful year for Lews with more exciting stuff to come! #lews #bassfishing #icast2026 #fishing #paramagitb by @anbradyfishing

Goodbye ICAST 2026— It was my first one and I had a great show, met a bunch of cool people a lot of good conversation, and especially the legends of the sport. I really wanna give a big thanks to the Rather Outdoors team for their work and dedication to the sport and Bass Pro Shops and especially the LIVING Legends like Bill Dance, KVD and Mark Zona and my boss Johnny Morris. Bass fishing wouldn’t be what it is without these names. 10 of the 10 experience, this was my first one and it won’t be my last. #bassfishing #billdance #lews #strikeking #icast taken in Orange County Convention Center-South Concourse by @anbradyfishing
