Don't sleep on stickers. Having a brand identity goes way beyond just the logo. It's because you need to consider every touchpoint where someone will ACTUALLY interact with your business and brand. Stickers are an awesome way to bring people in, let them be a small part of what you've created, have something tangible that reminds them of their experience, and it's free real estate (marketing) for you. It's not often that the first take doesn't land. I don't present 6-7 different logos. I present 1. The reason for this is I've created a strategic framework for branding that allows room for creative input and visual collaboration *before* I put pen to paper. This gives my clients room to show me, visually, what they like, while I am able to present moodboards with a specific concept, and strategic direction. Each moodboard has 3-4 different directions, based on market analysis and research. This process is: Informed. Less biased. Effective. It's also not perfect. Read through to see where some of the gaps are, and how that process is improving every day. Branding for Better Coman. "We make baking simple." The key visual anchor for this brand identity is the large, industrial sized mixer. I wanted to make sure that the hand-crafted aspect of the client's care, and approach to consultation was communicated, and used a more rough line art style, paired with a soft, almost worn-down serif typeface to pair. The client is an experienced food specialist, providing consultation, to help start up Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands. The goal of Better Coman is to make it easier for founders to navigate the complexities of the food production world.
