Ironman Australia - Port Macquarie 2024
The forecast called for rain and thunderstorms all day, but we woke to sunshine with only light showers. The swim was crowded, and after what felt like forever, I finally reached land and transitioned to the bike. At 60km, I hit a bump and heard a snap—my handlebars had come loose. I rode cautiously until 90km, but as they got worse, I was forced to stop and try to fix them. After 16 stressful minutes, I managed to tighten some bolts and continue, finishing the 180km ride. Then came the marathon. My legs felt like jelly, and after a strong first 12km, cramps set in, forcing me to slow down. I pushed through the pain and finally crossed the line in 12 hours and 2 minutes. It was a long day, but I achieved a lifelong goal. 🙌 taken in Port Macquarie, New South Wales by @andeeaye

I’d give anything for another minute with dad to tell him I love him and tell him how grateful I am for everything he did for me, and to give him a hug. Please tell your dads you love them, talk to them, get to know them, because you’ll regret not doing it when they’re gone by @andeeaye
