HOW THE HECK DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?????

😭😭😭😭😭

Now I’m home from work I can dissolve into a puddle of big happy feelings! 🥹🥹 AHHHHHH!!!! (Incoherent elated screaming)

Thank you so much to everyone who has read, share, and shouted about this sapphic secret rockstar bookstore romance!! 😱😱🥰🥰

I truly didn’t think this would happen today. BIG SHOUTOUTS to @youhadmeathea @macmillan.audio @stmartinspress and @thedaysbetween for supporting this love letter to indie bookstores and chronic migraine sufferers. Thank you. 🥹

I know that cover designer @kerriresnick artist @guyshield @smp_pub_art were an enormous part of making sure readers picked up this book based on its incredible cover.

Also, a special super duper thank you to the kind @chloe_liese for texting me to tell me the news!! 😘😘

“A modern, tongue-in-cheek view...Fly with Me makes you laugh right before it makes you cry."

“This is a book about facing truths even when they’re devastating, about how pizza parties are a poor substitute for a raise, about how people can be absolutely terrible but you don’t have to make the same miserable choices they insist you should.”

MY BOOK IS IN THE @nytbooks 😱😱😱😱😱 SCREAMING AND SOBBBBBBBING!!!

I woke up this morning and ONLY saw this because I was looking up something for a friend and can’t ever help but clicking on the book lists. AHHH!! I legitimately thought I was hallucinating before I started crying.

Thank you so much @o_wow_waite for you words. You somehow saw through the pages and straight into my soul. (Please forgive the melodrama, but I truly mean it.)

Seriously though—Fifteen years ago when I was trying to decide wtf to do with my life, @vdoozer ‘s brilliant show SCRUBS was the reason why I went back to school to become a nurse. Specifically, I told my friends I want to be like @itisijudyreyes1 ‘s character Carla because she’s an absolute badass. To see my book compared in ANY way to a show that means so much to me—and oh dear here comes more HYSTERICAL CRYING. basically, it’s everything.

(Pulls self together) Also and MOST IMPORTANTLY I wrote this book for NURSES and about a NURSE because our jobs are so damn hard, and media representation can be so hit or miss. To see my debut romcom about an ER nurse by a nurse featured in a list in a publication like @nytimes is beyond my wildest dreams.

Thank you so so much to everyone in my life who has supported me this year and @smpromance @stmartinspress @macmillan.audio @mariahlovesliterary @kerriresnick and of course, my brilliant editor Lisa.

I really cannot wrap my head around this. Sorry for the long post. Also sorry to my poor sweet kid who kept asking why I was crying into her Cheerios. 😘

AND ALSO I had no idea about this when I decided to come back to social media yesterday! 😱😱

CARLEY. Oh my goodness, CARLEY. You might be the coolest and most magical person I’ve ever met. Your aura. Your vibes. Every single thing in your perfectly curated store. FLAWLESS. Thank you so much for having me. I’m in awe of you. 🫶
