This is how I choose to see Dolly and Carl Dean. Happy, healthy, and still dolled up because that’s how she liked it. Not with wings of feather, but butterfly wings. Delicate and powerful. When Carl Dean passed last year, I knew Dolly was soon gonna follow, not because she wasn’t strong without him, but because she had given so much over her life to the world and him. He was her escape from all the hard work she did to make the world a better place now and in the future. She never stopped giving pieces of herself away. Carl Dean had the biggest and best piece and he took that with him when he passed. She deserves her rest now. I know she wanted to keep going and keep giving back to the world. It’s okay, Dolly, you can rest now. I promise, I’ll never stop loving you. I promise to always talk about you as the mythic figure you were. The stories of Dolly, especially in our current climate, sound impossible. “A woman who was angelic and beautiful and radiant but all of 5 foot nothing with a voice that could carry through all of the Smoky Mountains. You never saw her in any outfit that you could buy at a store and it was all tailored to fit her fabulous, unreal Jessica Rabbit frame, and boy did they shine. She would blind you if the light caught her just right. But she was so beautiful and magnetic you couldn’t take you eyes off of her. Just to be acknowledged by Dolly was to be seen by Dolly, because she cared about every person she ever saw or met. She could write songs that changed lives and culture in the span of an afternoon. Words that took her an afternoon to craft would stand the test of time and change lives. She gave and gave and gave like she had the whole world at her disposal. And when you think about it, she did. No one had the power to say no to Dolly when she didn’t have it herself to give. She built an empire that spanned the entire United States. You couldn’t even buy groceries without seeing #Dolly. She wanted you to have a bit of her at home with you from her cakes to the plates. She created an entire world in the mountains as an escape for those who sought community and relief from the pressure of the world around them. Dolly was a safe place.” by @andklrbain

@kimpetras Well, it’s finally here. I’m so proud of you, Kimmy. I’m proud of you for doing what is best for you and your art. Today I’m more proud than ever to be a BunHead. We have a real debut album. It wasn’t an easy road to get here, but this body of work feels like the debut album you deserved. I look back on the day I got to see you at FTB tour in DC and think about how excited I was to meet you and show you my croissant tattoo I got two days before you surprise dropped Problematique (this was all part of my birthday as well [October5]) to honor her. You almost immediately asked me about my arm which I didn’t tell you at the time was from a self harm episode just days prior. I, of course, lied about what happened. The sad thing was when that happened: all I thought was “I’m not gonna see Kim now.” The first time I discovered your music right before the pandemic, I didn’t realize that it was gonna save me over the next couple of years. You came into my life in a time where I was so bad off and in need of an escape that didn’t go up my nose. Your music made me feel alive without drugs. I feel so protective over you and my love for you. It’s sacred to me. Meeting you and being at the barrier for that DC show and having you sing standing on that speaker right in front of me looking at me dead in the eyes because I was the only person without my phone in my hand and I was singing back to you. It is a moment that I will never forget and it’s all mine. I don’t have a video, but I sure do have a memory that I will forever cherish. I hope to see you again for this one. I hope to give you a huge hug and a big ol’ “WE DID IT JOE!” From what you’ve shared, the road to this wasn’t easy. The final product though is truly special and I’m glad it’s here. Ryan Gosling and the team behind @projecthailmary should really be proud of what they’ve created. This is the first project I’ve seen since Predator: Badlands released that has made me feel this way. Like I said: I put it in my four on @letterboxd. I hope everyone gets their dues with this one. Releasing it in March is like hobbling a marathon runner before the race even starts. I laughed, I cried, and I wasn’t the only one doing all of that too. I wasn’t the loudest one doing all of that bringing all the attention to my cackling, sniffling ass. 🤣

Okay one more carousel! Just some of the details that really make me love it. All the AMG details are an obvious love - I.e. on the dash, the engine cover, the illuminated doorsill, and the seats are special AMG race style seats. All the light details in general are fabulous - the exterior running and accent lighting, the Mercedes star puddle lights, the doorsills again, and just the overall interior mood lighting. And the overall interior design is just gorgeous. Everything looks so pretty day or night. Fabulous looking and functioning air vents. Some manufacturers have lost the plot with the air vents. lol. Sorry I had to get it out. lol. BB was something I didn’t know I wanted or needed but is truly a gem of a car. 💎🦋 #mercedes #amg #mercedesamg #cla45s #vroom
And yes, if you listen to the song attached, it starts with Baby Blue Benz out front… and I did name her with inspiration from this song.
