Episode FIVE is LIVE!

We sit down this week with @andra.larkin, an indie author and painter who wrote the dystopian science fiction novel Veil of Eden (AND illustrated its cover!) to talk about her decade-long road to publishing, the trad-publishing offer that almost happened, and why AI should be cleaning our oceans, not creating our art.

July was hot 💅🏼
What an incredible month! I had my baby sister’s wedding, got to be a guest on the local news, and got a first look at the final version of the Veil of Eden hardcovers.

I’ve been so busy working on art, revising VoE II, and keeping up with everything else.

Finley. She’s not even my dog, but she’s my favorite.

Like five minutes of bird watching in NC

Lil sister doing me the biggest favor on her biggest day. She said, “I didn’t pay all this money for hair and makeup to NOT make content.”

Veil of Eden hardcover photos came in!

little Finley girl again 😭

Sci-fi is for the girlies. Send this to a fellow baddie💜

The Veil of Eden hardcover is finishing production and heading this way soon! Copies should arrive by late September.

What do you think? All of these extra details really spoke to me and fit perfectly with the story. In Cerebis, everything is flashy, bright, and meant to distract to conceal the truth. I thought this would be the book they’d try to sell you IN the book.

Linda Hurtado had me on Fox 13 Tampa for the Fox Local Book Club! We talked about Veil of Eden, working at an AI company in NYC, painting my cover art, and I even signed a copy for her live. I’m so grateful for amazing opportunities like this 🥹😭

After Linda asked for examples of things I witnessed while working for an AI company, I replied, “I signed a lot of NDAs!”

Have you ever seen an author sign a book backwards??? I watched it in person so can confirm this is legit. @andra.larkin has the best party trick with this one.
