📣 we're so happy that "THE WIND IN HER HANDS" is part of the @aboutyoupangeafestival this year! The Award winning Documentary will be screened 2 times at this fabulous cross art Festival.

07.08. - 12:45h
07.08. - 13:00h
At the KARAOKEBAR by
+ Q&A with the director and co-producer

Short Synopsis:
21-year-old Elena throws herself into Olympic Windsurfing with no experience and a past she’s never faced. As she fights for control, the buried trauma of sexual abuse begins to resurface. Set against the vast beauty and indifference of the sea, this poetic coming-of-age documentary explores the fragile boundary between ambition, self-erasure and the moment of losing control.

Quote: "Elena, the protagonist, is a force of nature!... the director succeeds in translating the sea and its powerful protagonist into images of rare beauty. The images speak entirely for themselves. This is cinema at its finest."
- DIANA ILJINE // Filmfest München 2011-2023

KIEL!

Kommt vorbei!

BEST DOCUMENTARY of the @snowdancefestival 2026!!!
We couldn’t be happier about it!! We even had competitors running at the SXSW Festival! WOW! The jury honored us with a few truly beautiful and deeply moving words:

“The wounds of her so very young life have not healed but her dream is so strong and alive that she subordinates everything to it...Elena, the protagonist, is a force of nature!... Jonas Nellissen succeeds in translating the sea and its powerful protagonist into images of rare beauty. The images speak entirely for themselves. This is cinema at its finest… and we very much look forward to seeing much more of his work.”

Jury:
Diana Iljine // Filmfest Munich 2011-2023 / Commissioning Editor (BR, RTL)
Ulrich Herrmann // Writer (Nachtzug nach Lissabon), Commissioning Editor („Tatort“, Sophie Scholl, Toni Erdmann)
Godehard Giese // Actor („Tatort“, Wannsee-Konferenz, Babylon Berlin).
Wolfram Winter // Manager (Universal, Sky u.a.), Chairman Pictures in a Frame GmbH Filmproduktion.

What the Snowdance said:
“A tender, visually stunning film about a young woman chasing what seems like an unreachable goal and, in doing so, searching for her inner balance.”
