This year has been full of joy, milestones, and so much love.

On December 10th, Cruz Marvin Rivera entered the world five weeks early on a sunny Wednesday afternoon.

His first weeks were in the NICU, taking it all as it came. He collected many nicknames, but Bubba is what we call him around the house.

We are grateful for family, friends, and the doctors who saved his life. The road to Cruz Rivera changed us.

I was very selective about what we bought for the newborn phase, and I don’t regret any of these. I thought the bottle washer was going to be overkill, but now we use it 3–4 times a day 😂 We put the little avocado toy 🥑 in his bassinet, and he figured out how to reach for it and hit it. So cute 💕 by @andreaball

When he’s frustrated because he wants to do something he can’t quite do yet, getting bored, or just having a rough moment, taking him outside is our little reset 🌿☀️ The change of scenery helps snap him out of whatever’s frustrating him, gives him something new to look at 👀, and he almost always calms right down. Wish we had figured this out sooner 😂

I saw everyone taking their babies to the aquarium and got influenced. 💙🐠

We took Cruz at 5 months old for one of his first big outings and my first Mother’s Day. 10/10 recommendation. Thanks, internet. 🤝
