The reason your content strategy keeps falling apart probably isn’t your fault. But it could be that you’ve been following advice designed for a completely different type of creator.

I think that there are five content styles, and most people don’t know which one they are. They just keep trying systems that work beautifully for someone else and wondering why it never sticks for them.

Take the quiz to find yours and then get a strategy that’s built around how you work.

My anti-burnout content strategy this time around is simple:

Build it around what you can maintain and not what you think you should be doing. That means fewer decisions, clearer systems, and content rhythms that work even when life gets heavy. Because if your strategy only works when you’re at full capacity, it’s not sustainable.

I wrote my strategy in full in my latest blog. Check it out! I’ve already heard it’s helped some overwhelmed content creators. Let me know what you think.

And if you want to know if I can help, start by taking the Content Clarity Quiz! #linkinbio by @andreabalogun

Yeah yeah, I know. Three months of radio silence and I show up like nothing happened 😅 I’m sorry for ghosting.

Life got loud, and my perfectionism has been getting the best of me, but I’m back! I’m trying to JUST POST. And podcast episodes are coming very soon. Thanks for sticking around. by @andreabalogun

I burned out on social media in 2023.

Not in a “I need a break” way but in a “I genuinely don’t know if I can keep doing this” way. And I was doing everything “right.” And still consulting others on how to show up online with great success.

Posting consistently. Showing up on multiple platforms. Following all the best practices. Creating valuable content. Engaging with my audience.

But I was exhausted. I got a new job and stopped filling a roster of clients. However, when it came to my own stuff, I dropped the ball. Trying to keep up with social media just wasn’t something I could do.

Coming back at the end of last year, it’s been hard getting back to being consistent. That’s when I realized: I wasn’t failing. My strategy was.

Most social media advice is built for full-time content creators. People whose entire business model IS the content itself. Not business owners who are also trying to deliver client work, manage teams, or build something sustainable. Or people like me who are 9-5ers but are still passionate enough to dedicate a few hours at night or over the weekend to continue helping others.

So I rebuilt my entire approach from scratch. I just published the complete breakdown: The Burnout-Free Social Media Strategy That Actually Works.

It’s not about just posting less and hoping for the best. It’s about rebuilding the system so it actually supports your business instead of consuming it. #linkinbio by @andreabalogun

So, I did a thing.

Well, two things.

When I said yes to being a breakout session speaker at Breath of Life’s Vision & Dreamers Conference, I knew that I needed to have some kind of resource to share with my audience. But I didn’t want to create another boring PDF freebie. I wanted to move past static freebies and on to an actual experience.

I needed to launch the things I promised I would do years ago. Stop overthinking it and just do it. Which is what I literally preach to my own clients.

So, I soft-launched a community AND a podcast within weeks of each other. Because. Crazy, lol. But it’s done, and now I can get the ball rolling!

If social media feels like an obligation instead of an opportunity, subscribe to my new podcast, Untangling Social Media. This is where I will talk about mindset shifts, sustainable strategies, and personalized approaches when it comes to social media. Everything you need to feel good about showing up online again.

And if you’re looking for a space for creators and entrepreneurs who want to stay consistent without losing themselves online, join The Untangled Collective. You’ll get a weekly rhythm of gentle accountability, some resources, and a real community. We’ve already had one group call and really unlocked some things for everyone involved. The link is in the bio.

No pressure. No perfection. Just clarity, calm, and people who actually show up. That’s what I’m aiming to build in my corner of the internet. DM if you have any questions. What are you working on building today? by @andreabalogun

Last weekend was nothing short of an answered prayer.

The Breath of Life Vision & Dreamers Conference was announced at the beginning of the year and I knew I wanted to be there. Buuuutttt…I didn’t think investing the money needed to be a priority for my family at the time. Even at the early bird price. Every time it was announced via newsletter or promo during church or online, I thought ‘That would be nice to go to but…’

If you don’t know, I run my business alongside my 9-5 duties as a social media coach for churches, and I’m wife and a mom to a 10 year old with special needs. So I’m always considering that the time I spend outside of being with my family should also benefit my family. That means I rarely take time for myself. But my husband reminded me that something that could inspire me is still something that benefits my family in the end as well.

So I started thinking about it differently even though that didn’t change how much it cost to go, lol. And early bird prices were over. Weeeeelllllll, then August rolled around and just as I thought it wasn’t going to happen for me. I got the invitation to present! Immediate tears lol. God was always looking out for little ole me.

THEN I find out that my sessions are going against some heavy hitters including @pastordsnell, @iamclaudiamallen, and @kirkrnugent. lol But I promised to provide valuable information to anyone who showed up to my sessions and the second one ended having several people standing up the duration of my presentation.

Lastly, I love public speaking engagements. Not just because I’m a yapper, lol. But because they force me to show up in ways I shy away from. As I was building my presentation over the last few months, I quietly launched a membership and a podcast YEARS in the making. That’s what saying ‘yes’ to the scary thing will do for you. It builds your confidence and pushes you to do the things you should’ve been doing when it was only you holding yourself back. by @andreabalogun

If you find yourself doom-scrolling this week instead of working ON your business… I get it.

I sent out some of these thoughts to my email list on staying consistent without ignoring what’s happening in the world. I’m going to try to continue showing up even though it’s hard. And I want to do it in a better way.

I will be opening up a community this week where we won’t just talk about what’s going on with social media, but how to make it easier for you in your own rhythm. If you’re curious about, stay tuned and comment CURIOUS below. by @andreabalogun

Social media isn’t a one size fits all kinda thing. And over the years, it’s never been more clear that trying to follow what someone else is doing instead of doing things your way puts you on the fast track to burn out or just giving up.

I’m not here to give you quick tips or trends to follow. I’m here to share several ways you could be using social media or show you how to make your content plan based on what works best for your bandwidth.

Follow along as we gear up to launch the podcast and YouTube channel. But don’t wait until then to start asking any burning questions you have.

What’s your biggest frustration with social media right now? by @andreabalogun

Here’s the truth: I didn’t plan to disappear from your feed for two years. In a few days, it will be two years since I pivoted from my business full-time to working 9-5 with a company. Not back into the world of finance, but forward into being a social media coach. And that transition demanded my full presence, and somehow, days turned into months, which turned into years.

But during this unintentional time away, I still found myself teaching virtual classes, stepping onto speaking platforms, designing website templates, developing custom websites, and providing tech support for virtual summits—all while navigating approximately one million video calls.

Perhaps the most precious unexpected gift was more quality time with family—the kind that grounds you and reminds you what actually matters beyond the notifications. Being part of another company’s structure has made it easier to choose what kinds of projects to say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to outside of that 9-5. And still feel like I have more time to focus on myself and my family.

I’ve seen a lot of us stepping back from our businesses, pivoting into full-time jobs or just plain slowing down. Honestly, I love that we’re all choosing a life that best fits us. Especially after experiencing a pandemic that made us all determine what really mattered to us.

So what does that mean for my business? Stay tuned because I still want to talk all things social media, websites, digital marketing, entrepreneurship and more. Has life ever pulled you in an unexpected direction that ended up reshaping what matters most to you? by @andreabalogun

Don’t let dead links or outdated information ruin your website’s user experience.

Periodically checking call-to-action links and buttons on your site can be the difference between keeping or losing a potential client/customer.

The client’s website I’m working on here was featured on Saturday Night Live singing behind Coldplay. So it was important that all the links went where they were supposed to and that all the information was up to date. This helps people that want to book them have the correct contact info and an updated calendar.

This is why I teach my website clients how to maintain their websites and have maintenance packages to help those that don’t have time. When was the last time you checked your website for broken links and outdated information?

This year, I want to see more people growing and thriving online by thinking and creating authentically, and not trying to game the system. You know?

Tricks and cheats aren’t the way to long-lasting business. But learning from your analytics based on data you get from your audience’s habits. Stop trying to find out how everyone else is doing it, and use the information provided to you in order to craft your own custom plan.

If you need help, I have a number of ways to sit down and evaluate your numbers with you. There’s a better way to do content marketing and I want to help you find the best formula for your own business.
