Happy anniversary, my love. It’s wild to witness the people you grew up with grow up. I’ve known these two since high school and meeting up with them in Huntington Beach while they on their beach camping holiday was a great reminder of how some things don’t change, even as life does. With two amazing kids now, getting to see them navigate parenthood together was awesome to witness. There is something so grounding about human connection that doesn’t fade with time or distance. Even with miles of desert between us again now, getting to step into their world for an evening, document their family vacation, and freeze some fleeting moments for them is my type of day that is hard to beat.

As the holidays approach, and even if we haven’t talked in awhile, I encourage you to reach out because there’s nothing I’d rather do than reconnect and get you memorable photographs in a place that’s special to you.

🥀 SEASONS OF LIFE, LOVE & DEATH

Summer may be over, but over here I’m prepping for a busy October and reminiscing on these icy black & white images from a winter wedding at @ebelloflb: my favorite place for an indoor celebration. Planned by @hiabbylee_ @sugarplumandco

Do you like a little dark romance? Same. Their details included red roses, a skeleton bride & groom cake topper, velvety textures, and of course, the infamous ‘Til Death detail. Real candlelight (a must) made the otherwise gorgeous and gothic dinner space glow.

I had the very good fortune of photographing a handful of couples over the years who weren’t exactly looking for the traditional wedding aesthetic: a little vampy, a little moody, and a whole lot of romance. I find that the people who are comfortable with the idea of death are the ones who are best at expressing their love. While the space and themes may appear dark, the love of family and friends filled the room and it was tangible and such a joyful occasion.

Your wedding doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Give me the funk, the mood, and vintage drama and always give me the deeply romantic ones.

A couple months ago I had the best day getting to know @mendez_rain & doing a while lifestyle shoot for her birthday.

We dance in the same company, but never have danced together. But through this day, we got to laugh and chat and ideate on all things, not just dance and it’s a beautiful thing getting to share a hobby but see each other past it.

We are all susceptible to making our hobbies and our work such staple parts of our life in conversation and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend extended time with different people in order to get to know them and their stories better. The photos came out amazing if I do say so myself and here’s a little behind the scenes outtake I took on film because for some reason I always gravitate towards posting those instead <3 taken in Los Angeles, California by @andreadavidphoto

Countless slides of pure black & white magic. Can’t help but to love it. <3

From getting ready at @burtonhousehotel, a beautiful ceremony at St. Timothy’s, and a wild reception at @hinokibird, this wedding was truly one of LA’s best parties in such an easy little radius.

Weddings are much smoother when you don’t have to drive miles or wait hours in-between happenings, and with certain types of weddings, this is unavoidable. By booking nearby venues, stunning hotels, and shooting in nearby green spaces, Paul & Isabel made their wedding celebration what they wanted: a space to gather with loved onces with good food, music, and a room full of love.

FAMILY PHOTO SEASON & MATERNITY IS UPON US

Message or email or (text me if you’re a season pass holder) to book a session. There are some openings for early November and a few spots on October / December.

If you’re not in a rush for a holiday card, you can also book during shoulder seasons because family time is any time of year <3

Sessions usually run 1.5 hours with the option for outfit and location changes for 85+ images with a turnaround time of 7 biz days. Price starts at $650 and sessions styles vary depending if you’re a new client or you been around the block for 10+ years 💕 by @andreadavidphoto
