Badlands 2026 - DNF ❌
315km / 6490 elevation / 31:45hrs

Is this what I hoped the outcome would be? No
Am I happy and proud of what I did? Yes
My main ‘concern’ beforehand was: Will I enjoy doing this? And the answer is rather short: no.
Although I would’ve loved to love it.
The combination of this crazy demanding terrain and the distance you have to cover daily to finish within time really took the joy of riding my bike away. It’s insanely beautiful out here and you only understand the greatness of it all once you’re in it, but even that I couldn’t enjoy. So the most fair and honest thing to do was to pull out of the race. I ride my bike because I love it and I want to enjoy what I’m doing, and once that joy fades away……what’s the point? I don’t feel the need to prove anything and I’m happy I’ve started at all. If we don’t try stuff, we’ll never know what we’re capable of 🙏🏼

The past few months building towards @badlandscc were mainly focused on enjoying my time on the bike, catching up with friends, work trips and keeping my piece of mind 💆🏻‍♀️ Really excited, curious and also scared as shit to start my biggest challenge to date this Sunday morning.
