Three years ago, two tiny little girl cats came into my life and quietly changed it forever. 🤍🐾

Through heartbreak, healing, laughter, tears, loss, new beginnings, and everything in between… you’ve been right there beside me, filling this little home with so much love. ✨

Persephone, my sweet little cuddle bug who somehow believes every tiny space was made just for her. Thank you for always melting into my arms with complete trust. 🤍

Athena, my gentle little shadow. Thank you for always finding your way beside me, quietly following me from room to room. Your quiet presence has carried me through more days than you’ll ever know. ✨

I was so lucky to have loved two incredible boy cats, Hercules and Pierre, and now I get to love two beautiful girls. Just us girls now… and I love it. 💕

I know Pierre is still watching over this little family, and I like to think he smiles every time he sees the two of you keeping me company the way you do. 🌈💙

Happy 3rd Birthday, my sweet girls. 🎂🐾

I love you more than you’ll ever know. 🤍 by @andrealozada

Pierre 💙
September 1, 2010 — May 26, 2026 🕊️🤍

Eight years ago, I went to the shelter convinced I was bringing home a black cat. Black cats are so often overlooked, and my heart was set on loving one. While I was waiting to bring Hercules home, I spent some time with the other shelter cats.

Every cat in the room was asleep except one.

Pierre.

He meowed at me so eagerly and lovingly that I couldn’t ignore him. He chose me immediately. He was only meant to be a foster while his health stabilized, but when the time came for someone else to adopt him, I realized there was no world where he belonged anywhere but home with me.

And so he stayed.

At first, Pierre was quiet and observant. He mostly chose me and kept his distance from everyone else. But over the years, I watched him transform.

He became confident. Curious. Social in his own deeply Pierre way. If someone came into our home, Pierre made sure they knew he was there. He would sit beside them, study them carefully, sometimes climb right into their lap like he had known them forever.

He went from being this timid little foster cat into the steady heartbeat of our home.

When Hercules passed, I saw another side of Pierre emerge. I watched him grieve his brother in ways that broke my heart. He searched for him, curled himself around the places Herc used to sleep, and stayed close to me while we both learned how to live with the silence.

For a little while, it was just me and my boy. And that season of life together was so special to me.

Eventually, our two little girls came into our lives. At first, Pierre was understandably unimpressed with my decision. But I quickly watched him soften into the role of protector, teacher, and steady presence. He cleaned them, watched over them, tolerated all their kitten chaos, and slowly became their guardian. I saw so much of Hercules in him during those years, like love being passed forward through him.

Year 35. 🌬️

No grand reinvention.
No perfectly curated transformation.
Just a quieter return to myself.

This past year unraveled me in necessary ways.
It taught me how to sit with uncertainty without abandoning myself inside it.
How to let love exist without gripping it.
How to stop turning every ache into proof that something is wrong.

I became softer,
but also clearer.

Less interested in being chosen,
more interested in the life I’m choosing for myself.

I stopped romanticizing survival.
Stopped believing the rest had to be earned.
Stopped mistaking intensity for intimacy.

And somewhere in all of that,
I began meeting myself with more honesty,
more patience,
more grace.

34 reminded me that life is happening now.
In the middle of walks home.
In long conversations and quiet mornings.
In the people who feel like soul family.
In laughter that heals something ancient.
In grief that deepens love instead of replacing it.

35 feels like learning how to stay.

Stay with joy long enough to fully feel it.
Stay grounded in myself when life feels uncertain.
Stay open without losing my discernment.
Stay present for the beauty I used to rush past while trying to become someone else.

I don’t want a life that only looks beautiful from the outside anymore.
I want a life that feels beautiful to live inside of.

One with depth.
With softness.
With reciprocity.
With enough stillness to hear my own inner voice again.

So here’s to this next chapter
not the most polished version of me,
but the most real.

The woman who keeps choosing wonder.
Who keeps returning to herself.
Who is finally understanding that becoming was never about turning into someone else

To only having the courage to fully be here. 🤍✨ by @andrealozada

we are rare, not perfect
and that’s where the beauty lives

in the cracks, the courage,
the way we keep going
even when the path isn’t clear

in the quiet strength it takes
to remain soft
in a world that often hardens us

in the small moments of becoming,
where who we were
gently gives way to who we are

Year 34. ✨🌸
Not a reinvention, but a remembering—
of the girl I’ve always been becoming.

The thinker.
The feeler.
The shapeshifter who stays soft through every transformation. 🦋

This year is rooted in clarity.
Every yes is sacred.
Every no is loving.
My softness is my power. 🌊

I’ve learned that love isn’t something I have to chase—
it’s something I am.
It begins within and echoes outward. 💖

To the soft life. ☁️
To becoming my own sanctuary. 🕊️
To boundaries that bloom and joy that asks for nothing in return. 🌷

Here’s to her—
the one who tears up at small beauties and silent blessings. 🌅
The one who slows down, softens forward,
and loves like a quiet revolution. 🔥💫 by @andrealozada
