♠️A nice recap of our Texas trip. It was the best of times! Thanks to all our friends and to our manager Paolo Pagetti for making this possibile.

♦️The song you can hear in the background is a cover of Paul Westerberg’s “it’s a wonderful lie”, we recorded it at Mark Del Castillo’s home studio in Buda, Texas.

♣️ Playing Texas was a blast and we hope to be back in the future; the clubs, the people, the food, the landscape… everything.

♥️ A live album is coming! Can’t wait! I don’t know if it will be available digitally, but a limited edition vinyl pressing is on its way to be produced! Cheers! taken in Texas by @andreavancleef

Heliobatis Radians:

According to Andrea, the band’s guitarist and vocalist:

“It started out as an improvisational jam session I used to play with my old band, Van Cleef Continental, built around the classic ‘motorik’ beat associated with Krautrock. Eventually, it evolved to incorporate a whole new set of musical references, influences, and original ideas. Revisiting the track with this new band was a lot of fun, and I immediately felt that the song had found a new shape. Musical pieces are often living things that take on different forms and identities depending on the people you play them with. Is it “stoner rock” now? Who cares.”

Here’s the long version reel, you can find the whole song on YouTube. The whole album was recorded in a single afternoon session. No overdubs, no editing. by @andreavancleef

Our first album as a band — but also a continuation of a story that started somewhere else.

Some of these songs were written years ago by our singer and guitarist Andrea for his former bands. We wanted to bring them back to life, but through the new sound, the new lineup, the new desert.

So we didn’t really feel like making a “proper” album.

We went to @labucarecordingclub , unloaded the gear, plugged in the amps, put some mics on the drums and hit record.

Six songs. One live session. From start to finish. No overdubs.

Just four guys, loud amps, a room full of air and a little bit of dust.

This is Song of the Lizard, coming soon to a stage near you.

A quick cover of @thestrokes ‘ #themodernage.
2 guitars ( a @guildguitars blues bird into Logic Pro Fender Twin sim, and a @uaudio LPB S-2 compressor)
1 bass (an @epiphone Jack Casady with flatwounds into Logic Pro SVT CL sim)
Voice: since it was rumored that @minorbutmajor sang straight into a guitar amp (as we later came to know, he actually used an overdriven Avalon preamp), I had fun singing into Logic Pro AC30 sim.
Well, I had some fun ‘tho I had to shorten the song a little, because when you play by yourself people are easily bored.
Love. taken in Brescia - Italia by @andreavancleef
