This Orchid series are the parts of myself I’ve been reconnecting with. Some days it’s soft and sweet, some days I’m so exhausted and angry I want to burn certain parts of myself down so they just don’t exist anymore and some days something new is only just starting to show itself.
Thank you @homeinthehills for the orchids.

_________

Being back in the Northern Rivers after 3 years away has been beautiful and really fkn hard. 5 months in, and I’ve been on a real journey, self acceptance, seeing where my patterns come from, learning to let myself feel and express rage, understanding how connected my mind and body really are.

I built a whole other life out there, friendships, learning a language, a slower way of living. Coming home, no one really knows what that journey was like (cancer sun, scorpio moon, let’s be real you’ll never fully know).

Underneath it all, my body didn’t feel safe with so much change. That tension got so real I struggled to move and to walk, literally. So the last few months have been about rebuilding trust with myself, healing, routine, purpose, acceptance and nature.

It’s still uncomfortable sometimes, but I’m grateful my body is talking to me, telling me to breathe, to choose presence. by @andreayea___

A little over a month ago, I traveled with @threadcaravan to Morocco, a land rich with history that left a lasting mark on me. The air held stories of old traditions and merchants trading spices and silks in bustling markets. The intensity yet warmth and welcoming energy of the people. I strolled through orchards of figs and apples, the call to prayer filled the air, wrapping everything in a quiet sense of the sacred. The food’s bold flavors, the sun’s warm glow, everything felt just right.

We joined Amazigh women, their hands strong as we washed wool in the cold river. We shared a lot of tea, a lot of bread dipped in olive oil, butter and jam, laughs and quiet moments while spinning wool under open skies. Every @threadcaravan trip sparks this awe in me, the beauty of timeless traditions and the warmth of coming together. I’m forever grateful for these moments that remind us of the sacredness and importance of traditions.

Something about women gathering in water, we become and remember that we are water nymphs šŸ’§

Just a few minutes drive from @domehomeretreat is this sacred freshwater spot with the most mesmerising green and blue hues. I saw the gals around the water and really appreciated the beauty of these women and the togetherness we all felt especially after spending a week gathering for such a beautiful cooking retreat, having tea ceremonies, crying, laughing.

I don’t have an underwater camera yet, so it involved a lot of me scrambling over rocks while they waited, playing in the water, the girls getting cold while we tried over and over again so I’m grateful for the patience. by @andreayea___

Highlights from a week-long weaving immersion in Oaxaca, in the towns of Mitla and Teotitlán del Valle. During this trip we learn about the evolution of Mesoamerican textiles, from weaving with heirloom cotton and ixtle agave fibers on the backstrap loom, to the introduction of pedal looms and wool.

Join us next year in January, October or November.

A couple of streets from my place in Jalatlaco, Oaxaca, was @johanna.palmieri old studio. We each took a shot of mezcal before I picked up my camera. I’ve always been curious how painters turn a blank canvas into something by making shapes and faces, mix colours and do all these techniques and make you feel things or make you wonder. But @johanna.palmieri isn’t just a painter. She’s an amazing photographer, she sews beautiful clothes, and she’s pretty damn good at karaoke. Creativity just oozes out of this gal! by @andreayea___

Such a special experience, photographing and meetings artists who came through residency at @t.e.x.e.r.e & @threadcaravan — natural dyers, all sorts of textile artists, embroiderers, all of them deep in their craft. Photographing them meant getting to watch them work in their element, and I learned something new every time. Plenty of photographs but here’s a start.

Grateful for my girl @caitlin.garcia.ahern always welcoming me in all the things you do and just being the baddest queen for creating such beautiful things by @andreayea___

ā€œExtracting color from plants and from different pigments found in nature means understanding the patience of a process that creates a dialogue between time and nature. In Colombia, thanks to its great diversity of ecosystems, we find many dye extracts such as bark, roots, plants, and flowers, which, because of their high tannin content, are perfect for dyeing. Beyond simply extracting color, the dyeing process is a practice deeply connected to the territory. It means recognizing the land that nourishes the plants, their cycles, and their harvests. It means being mindful when picking a flower and returning to the land what we have taken from it. Even though the same steps are repeated, it is a process that is different every time.ā€

Our trip host María José Gomez is from Ubaté, Colombia, where she runs the textile residency program @casaraiz.taller and the dye project @bycurcuma_.

This year, there are two opportunities for you to learn from Majo on our trips: in Colombia in July, and Peru in August. Registration for both trips is open on our website. In the meantime, you can read more about Majo's color philosophy in the digital journal on our website.

Beautiful moments with Aicha, Samira, Youssef, Mohammed, and Marta. Shaping ceramics from the earth of the Rif Mountains, painting each piece with clay slip glazes made from natural mineral pigments and a traditional pit firing.

This June 2026, join us in Morocco for an intimate ceramic immersion rooted in craft, landscape, and tradition. Only two final spaces remain. Come with us to experiences the living traditions of Moroccan ceramics.

I’ve always loved photographing flowers, the patterns in plants, the textures and shapes of rocks. I have a whole collection of albums dedicated to these kinds of photos, going back to my early 20s but I never really shared them here because I didn’t want to ā€˜disrupt’ how my grid looked but honestly who cares, so enjoy these flowers from the botanical gardens in Syd and California by @andreayea___
