Three years of calendar posters makes a series I suppose.

The first one from 2023 was based on a photo I took of my turntable, split up, and given a Blue Note style treatment. It was pretty easy to arrive at the final design as I had no expectations and was happy with the end result.

I based the 2024 design on an illustration of a record. This one was also pretty quick to design as I had the concept in mind for a while before starting.

For this year’s poster, I finally landed on using a photo of my headphones layered over color fields. I knew how I wanted to redesign the headline but I struggled to come up with the rest of a design direction. I had quite a few starts and stops but am ultimately pleased with the way the design turned out. taken in Terra Linda by @andreipdesign

Bought this classic in 1992 at the Builder’s Booksource old San Francisco location on De Haro street. Having @buildersbooksource and @archsupplies in the neighborhood was all that a CCA(c) design student could ever want. #designhistory #artsandcrafts #books #macdesign taken in San Francisco, California by @andreipdesign

@hsb2002 suggested trying a two story g so I went down that rabbit hole. In the end I settled on a singe story g that fits in well. Also did a solid version of the alphabet. Lots of little tweaks still to do but it’s coming along.

Took a first stab at building out a full alphabet for a font I designed for a logotype. I created this for band I was in ages ago.

Need to makes some tweaks to the G, T and Y but I’m happy with this first take.

Next up… numbers.

I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Vaughn Oliver yesterday. The magic that he made with 4AD reverberated with me as kid. The music and designs combined as a singular expression of the same creative spring. It was his work that made me realize what design could be and was the spark that inspired me to choose my career. Thank you for bringing so much beauty into this world. #ripvaughanoliver #4ad #23envelope #vaughnoliver by @andreipdesign

A design I created for a swim event last season was used by a T-shirt vendor without permission for an entirely different event. #imitationisthesincerestformofflattery #getpermission #borrowingwithoutasking taken in San Rafael, California by @andreipdesign
