What does light get up to when no one is around? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Continuing to experiment with longer video/animation concepts. Short clips from ‘Light Touch’ Full vid linked in my bio.

Tennis ball shaggy hair test that ended up looking sort of like a mullet 😆 Any other good hair ideas for a tennis ball?

I don't call myself a dog photographer or a robot photographer. Could call myself a robot-dog photographer after this though 📸

On location for @phillymag @claudiaaann @learynorth

And you know I needed a little Blender composite in there as well.

Camera roll, Blender edition 👨🏽‍💻 Those transparency checkers were really speaking to me for some reason.

Gaussian Splat Testing: Added a storm trooper and re-lit like night time. Really enjoying the quality from this splat. Shot in 4K on Canon R50V 📷

Gaussian Splat Testing: Peters Valley

Higher quality scan has gotten me some of the best results yet.

Environment scan was captured in 4K video on Canon R50V

Canon ➡️ Colmap ➡️ Brush ➡️ Blender (Octane)

Helpful tutorials from:
@1polygonewithme for relighting splats in Blender Octane
@joergkahlhoefer for capturing splats / Octane viewport processing

Gaussian Splat Testing: Society Hill Towers

It’s been fun to capture environments and be able to maneuver around in a way that’s responsive. Still trying to get the capturing process 100% dialed in.

I started wondering what the world looks like through her eyes after Zinnia came into our lives last month. 👶🏽 @larissa.huff

Newborns potentially can’t see in full color, and can only focus their eyes on objects 8-10 inches away. I wanted to explore what that might look like 👀 by @andrerucker

Testing Gaussian Splats for the last few weeks. I thought a fly through of a photoshoot setup would be a fun animation with cans, lights and lenses which wouldn’t normally work well in a 3D scan.

What other setups would make for good splat animations?

PostShot for the splat. @blender.official for the camera animation. PostShot for the final render.

More scenes from Light Touch. Thought it could be fun if light could physically alter its environment as it moved☀️
