A bit about being a food judge— the fair, the competitions, the process, and how I became a food judge. As well as shout outs to some inspiring chefs including my grandmother @teresaocampooliart 🥗🇵🇪😄 & the brilliant @chefmelissaking 🍲 taken in State Fair of Texas by @andresruzo

Summer 2026 at the Boiling River, Shanay-timpishka, in the central Peruvian Amazon.

Brought to popular attention by geoscientist Andrés Ruzo who continues to assemble an annual cohort of multidisciplinary scientists, including @the_explorers_club and @natgeo folk. Also, thanks to @rolex ! A few shots taken by our resident drone expert, @dennisclancey

For me, the Great American Wilderness is one of the most spectacular treasures of the #USA 🇺🇸 63 national parks and hundreds of national monuments, state, local, or private parks, sanctuaries, and wild spaces that invite us to explore! 🏔️

President #teddyroosevelt famously called on everyone to experience and cherish the “sacred heritage” of the American Wilderness— and I could not be more excited to share that with this new show, in which we hope to echo his call!

On July 4, 2026, join us to celebrate #America250 with @natgeo @disneyplus @abc and @goodmorningamerica as we experience the Natural Wonders of America 🇺🇸.

7 @natgeosociety Explorers, teamed up with 7 #ABC news anchors, to visit natural wonders for 24 hours of special programming celebrating the wild heart of America 🇺🇸❤️‍🔥🌋.

I deeply hope that this show inspires everyone to visit your local parks and wild places— whether it’s just around the corner or across the country — because our landscapes are precious. They are the ecosystems that make life possible. They are our home, and they are an inextricable part of us.
A very happy 4thofJuly to all, and don’t forget to go outside! 🌋🥳🇺🇸 taken in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park by @andresruzo

Andrés Ruzo has spent years studying the Boiling River—a geothermal river hidden deep in the Peruvian Amazon that science had dismissed as legend until he found it. His work sits at the intersection of geology, ecology, and Indigenous knowledge, and his episode is one of the most surprising in the entire series.

The full Rewilding Amazonia series is now streaming, and this week's Rewildology newsletter has everything in one place—all eight episodes, spotlights on series supporters Cool Earth @coolearthaction and Rainforest Trust @rainforesttrust, a Book Club reminder for this Saturday with Christine Figgener, PhD, @seaturtlebiologist and a way to take your impact further by donating a tree to the Black Jaguar Foundation's @blackjaguarfoundation Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor in Brazil.
