Aside from epic nutrient cycling, Dung beetles can also help reduce buffalo fly populations!!!!

Yes, just when you thought these creatures couldn’t get any better.

Dung beetles bury fresh pats in hours — crushing fly eggs, starving maggots, and introducing predatory mites that eat fly larvae. There are reports of 80–90% fly kill where beetles are active and diverse.

How do you help your dung beetles? Watch the herbicide and pesticides.

Stay away from Oral drenches in your cattle.
If you’re using chickens keep them off your fresh pats for 3-4 days.

Me yapping on about some ways to re think Forrest management. Get to know your plants, it’s not about eradicating it’s about enabling the rainforest to come back. Slow down, observe closely, find the patterns #regenerative #plantsasatool #rainforest #soil #chemicalfree by @andrew._.c

What a great morning @thefarmatbyronbay with a great turn out of local farmers eager to learn ways to improve soil and animal health and how it’s all connected .

Was fantastic working alongside @metamorphicagnz to bring some highly valuable knowledge to our local farming community. Such a pleasure seeing farmers connect share and learn in such an enjoyable setting.

I look forward to many more workshops and events like this in the future.

What a great opportunity coming up!

If you’re grazing cattle in the Northern Rivers and wanting to give your animals the best chance of being productive and healthy whilst looking after your soil then this one’s for you….

Myself and the amazing Emily House from @metamorphicagnz will be guiding you on a morning of looking at soil and leaf tests, microbiology and in paddock observations, above and below ground to help you best determine what actions you can take for improving soil, pasture and improving animal health and production.

This is a process of discovering the best “recipe” for your farming context not giving you a recipe.

Date - Friday August 14
Time - 8.30-12.30pm
Where - @thefarmatbyronbay

Spaces are limited.

One image is what we have done, one is what we can do and many people are doing. Swipe right for a better way forward.

What if we start focusing on what we can do going forward rather than what has been done in the past.

Look forward to what’s possible. Accept what’s happened in the past, humble ourselves and accept what we were taught and how we have lived so far doesn’t really work.

A whole world of possibilities open up. Everything is up for grabs we get to create a new path a new way of being. A new way of connecting with land and people.

We can transform landscapes, the answers have been given to us, if we take the time to stop and observe and shift our perspective. It’s all very possible. #mindset #believe #hope by @andrew._.c

We got worms!!!!

Nothing better than visiting a clients farm and seeing life return back to the soil. Within 12 months of planned grazing. We are seeing microbiology kick into gear. Happy healthier roots in the ground, soil aggregation improving, desirable pastures coming back into the system and the all important worms!! 8 months ago visiting this property we saw none. A strong indicator things are headed in the right direction… one simple change, a shift in management.

What a pleasure it is leaving a property and hearing the words “this gives me hope” from a client. Hope we shall when we as farmers and land managers can effect positive change in this world……. #hope #soillife #regenerativefarming by @andrew._.c

Manage for what you want. Know your plants and what function they hold within your current environment……

Since managing 40 odd acres of rainforest as well as transforming an avocado orchard @figrockfarm I have become very compassionate for the somewhat hated camphor laurel, which I now know is completely misunderstood. This is one of many examples of how we can work with this pioneer tree, to help bring back rainforest.

Whether on pasture in the paddock, orchard or forest it’s far more enjoyable job managing for what you want than what you don’t want. Can pretty much be applied to anything. #rainforest #bushregen #management #chemicalfree #biodiversity #nativespecies #camphor by @andrew._.c
