sunset melting into candlelight, bodies moving as prayer, the whole room breathing together.

remember

i woke up today feeling water, and how all simply changes, and passes, and how it’s all borrowed, and beautiful, and brilliantly designed.

i am being reminded a lot lately to live with open palms, and to let beauty unfold like a river. to pass through my fingers. to let it breathe. to let it all be. to believe.

it literally is what we make of it.
it is how we shape it.

god, with all sweetness in your spirit,
sculpt and hold and polish me as your own,
for i and my path are yours.
may it be even more beautiful
and surprising
than ever before.

creator is a cutie,
and creation is so wise.
i let my mind dissolve
into my heart again.
and remember that all
literally is happening
just for us.

day 2 | MOVED

true

it’s so real, how love simply is.
and how it exists so perfectly.

love finds us limp sometimes,
curled and frail and faint,
wanting, literally, love.

will you let it in?
will we all?
will i?

love enters —
hurling like tsunami,
electric as fire,
wild as wild,
still as bone.

and still,
will you let it in?
won’t we all?
why wouldn’t we?

love will change us, they say,
and move us, tremendously,
across planets and climates,
and nothing is the same after.
yet, it doesn’t end.
and here we are.
here it is.

love isn’t done with us.
so long as life gives us breath
in these soft bodies,
love has all of us.

it shows us where we aren’t yet free,
and where we can slowly open.

only sometimes, love knocks.

how can all of this
fit inside my little earth being?
it’s devastatingly vast,
and i don’t know how to hold it.

and so i learn —
to push off the side of the river,
belly up to the sunshine,
and let myself float,
and be oh so carried,
by these kind, celestial currents,
who know where i belong,
who know how to carry me,
just as i am.
just like this.

letting go is terrifying at times.
in other moments it feels like birthday.

sometimes all feels so far away,
and then i am reminded —
how every living breath of love
that i’ve ever tasted and touched
is exquisitely stitched in the tapestry
of this little beating
breathing
heart.

i walk with this,
even with this lump in my throat,
of all of the wordless words of love,
with nowhere to go,
besides, literally, everywhere.

grief and praise.
love and pain.
coffee and pancakes.
here. now.

love lives here too.

by chance love felled the muse. she’s here all around and inside of you. moves her way through you. you listen to her and she listens to you ~ love won’t be kept nor bound but multiplies unto. she will sing a song of grief and you will wade and cleanse before her tears so you may too, feel lighter. So that we might learn to grieve in the capacity to which we praise

day 1 | MOVED

let’s get the people moving.
let’s get them creating again.
let’s get them in the garden.
let’s get them praying,
holy, open and alive.

let’s get mud on their hands, rain in their hair, mist on their skin and possibility in their lungs. again. and again. and again. we remember and we nourish this. consistently.

may we awaken in full lucidity to this planet of all iridescence, and duality, and divinity. may opposites and perceived contradictions dissolve in the heart. may we enter that nameless, wordless love portal, and be there often.

i know it’s hard out there — and in there sometimes, too, my friends. i honour us in this. the brutality of being. and the bliss in beauty. it’s enough. it’s plenty. it’s luminous,
too.

chopping ginger. finding sticks. wet leaves. divine asymmetry and damp toes in damp shoes, walking. cool and warm noses, wiggling. gentle october drizzle. the wonder of this way. the eyes wide open and shoulders back and the letting in of the great everything that is just so here for us. this magic. the rain drops forming rainbows right here and right now. all of the time.

we’ve got places to be and good lives to lead. we’ve got picnics to pack and soil to kiss. we’ve got people to call and love letters to write. coffee to drink and lightning to watch. we’ve got wet pavement to smell and curiosity to tend. children to feed and things to pray for.

still.

let’s keep going.
keep growing.
let’s curl the edges
of our creations
and write this all
beautifully
into being.

dear life,
move me well.
i love you.
