Weddings eh?

Thank you so much to @emilyyfarrell and @stephenrigneys for an incredible week in the sun. Ericeira is one of the most beautiful towns in the world and a few nights after in Lisbon knocked my socks off. Back at it as of today.

Beyond buzzed to be invited back to play some records at with @paisleydark at my old haunt @headrowhouse today for some Bank Holiday action today - this pic is from our joint party last year when we played b2b for the first time ⚡️

John has been such an inspiration to me for so long - through his label, his parties and more importantly his kindness. When he invited me to come play records with him at Outlaws back in 2019 he asked me about a track ID I was playing - even that was a buzz. Fast forward a couple weeks and he played it warming up for Weatherall and @hardwaybros at @goldenlion_todmorden. I was over the fucking moon ❤️

Today I join @marieavril_marieavril, @templehead and the Belfast don @viper_patrol - big one in bound. We’re hoping to press on with the roof but who knows. Who’s scared of a drop of rain anyways?

Even though the weather isn’t looking that great for Sunday, our roof top gig will still be going ahead although it’s looking increasingly like it will be in the lovely dry surroundings of the ground floor bar. The fantastic @weoutherefest is over again for another year and I can’t stress how special it was to be part of this years edition.

There are too many highlights to list but I will do my best here:

✅ @lovie.world having the best tunes
✅ @cocobops__ showing em how it’s done
✅ @madprofessorariwa doing the thing
✅ @dj_subaru being a force of nature (has the world caught up yet?)
✅ @lovemuscleleeds once again showing them how it’s done
✅ @everett.peven singing with @plentyppl
✅ @yusu_suyu casting a fucking spell in Beat Hotel
✅ driving there and back
✅ @shackletonofficial being a mystical wizard at The Grove
✅ @esme_mcarthur finding me as I was stuck to one spot so @musys_ could find me
✅ listening to @speechdebelle chat about their collective @we.are.blackfish and tearing through their book during any moment I could spare
✅ explaining to @nelly_irl that if she needed to get rid of the motion sickness from the fairground ride she would have to ask the guy to run it backwards and get back on
✅ @joycrookes dancing like a rectangle
✅ @___pet___ being amazing
✅ Being the (un)official Leeds crew meeting spot on the first night. Thanks so everyone who came to say hello. (Apologies for any records that ran out but it’s not everyday @millie_farrant and @thandiweziv are in the same room)

And literally hundreds of others - that is no exaggeration. I didn’t even manage to get a dance at all the stages this year as there was just so much good stuff everywhere. And by good stuff, I mean my fucking pals absolutely smashing it everywhere I looked ❤️

Already looking forward to next year - congrats @weoutherefest and @noahballnoahballnoahball. You’ve created something beautiful 🌻

The mighty @weoutherefest has rolled around again and I could not be prouder to say I’ll be playing records again this year at one of the finest weekends of music anywhere on planet Earth.

This festival holds such a special place in so many of my pals hearts and it’s really not hard to understand why. If you’ve made the fated journey to the phoneless paradise that is Wimborne Saint Giles - you know exactly what I’m talking about.

The video you’re are watching is from last year. I captured it as I was trying to get as close as I could to the stage in awe of @nalasinephro and her band. When I got the front I was met with something that I had wondered at at an earlier edition of the festival but had only seen them on display. These stunning surreal, almost in motion portraits of Pharoah Sanders and Shabaka Hutchings. This is @artistginasouthgate who has been painting at every single We Out Here artist as they play live on the main stage.

We Out Here is full of these magic moments everywhere you look; a festival for the music heads with the golden thread of jazz running through every string, horn and record coming out of the speakers. And there’s a right Leeds crew in tow this year… 👀

I’ve got a nice wee bag of lovers, dub, and reggae to set things off from 8pm in the Once In A Blue Moon Cafe on Thursday night - prime time for the skip back to the tent to grab a hoody and more sweeties. Stop in and say hello if you are around 🍬
