Trying to show variety and also trying to show a variety of styles and looks. This piece is called “Little Bell” and it’s on 22x34 hand made cold press paper! I used @rosa.ukraine watercolors and I have to say they are beautiful.

A commission I did awhile ago for a client of a local interior decorator. Ive been so lucky to have the clients and people around me who trust me enough to be able to create what they want and need. I pride myself on making my clients happy & this painting definitely made everyone happy!

I didn’t expect this commission to affect me the way it did.

I was honored to paint Sergeant Mark Kevin Murphy of the Prince George’s County Police Department, who gave his life in the line of duty on September 1, 1988.

Mark served 14 years with Prince George’s County, was part of the Emergency Services Team, received numerous commendations and was awarded the department’s Silver Medal of Valor. Those who knew him remembered him as a team player who helped others and never looked for personal recognition.

I painted this portrait as a memorial—not just of the uniform and badge, but of the man behind them.

Then, the very day I finished the painting, I learned that Mark’s wife, Rose Marie, had also passed away.

Mark and Rose Marie had only been married three weeks when he was killed.

That timing stopped me in my tracks.

This painting now feels like more than a commission. It feels like a small piece of remembrance for two people whose lives were connected, and whose story should not be forgotten.

Sergeant Mark Kevin Murphy
Prince George’s County Police Department
End of Watch — September 1, 1988

Rest easy, Sergeant. You are remembered.

Another commission done! Worked from multiple photos to create this beauty. This took multiple tries and a lot of frustration, lol. It came out pretty good in my opinion. Love the deckled edge of @newyork_central handmade watercolor paper and how the @danielsmithartistsmaterials watercolor paints and @holbeinartistmaterials watercolor paint looks on this paper! I can’t wait to see the faces on my client with this piece.
