POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hello, my name is Andrew.

It’s time for a reintroduction.

I realised recently that most of you found me somewhere in the middle of the story. Not at the start, not at the ‘pivot’, but somewhere between a bad year, a really shitty year, a few daft reels, and whatever I’m doing now.

So here’s the short version.

I’m a wedding photographer who accidentally fell in love with making silly videos on the internet. Last year was the ‘worst’ year of my photography career, so I tried something new. I posted relentlessly. I showed up every day. Learned from the flops. So many flops. Found my voice. And somehow built a corner of social media full of people that don’t mind seeing my daft face pop up in their feed.

No sales pitch today. It’s just me saying ahoy there. I hope you’re doing good.

And if you ever need a little proof that reinvention is still possible, you’re looking at it.

Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been around for five minutes or five years.

Go well my friends.

Interrupting your scroll to remind you, fellow wedding photographer, to be proud of what you create, in whatever style makes you happy, using whatever lens suits, on whatever camera you have.

Edit with your app of choice. Process with your own secret recipe, if that’s what you do. Use a preset from a creator you admire, if you like.

Pose your couple or document from a distance (you can even document close up, if you’re feeling adventurous). Whatever.

Just serve your clients with everything that you have. Keep learning what you’re capable of.

And make something cool.

Go well.

More than a few people have asked where I’ve disappeared to (thank you for checking in!)

I needed to step away for a while because real life needed more of my attention than Instagram did.

No “I’m having a break!” post because I wasn’t sure how long it would be and I’ve never really liked those posts anyway.

Social media is still the Forest of Noise, and it’s still ensnaring unwary travellers.

Good news, I’ve spent a lot less time thinking about algorithms, trends and what everyone else is doing. It’s been a good reminder that none of it matters as much as I sometimes let myself believe!

I’m not fully back yet. There are still a few things to work through. But I have been scribbling ideas in the background, and when the time feels right I’ll be back to help photographers find their own path through the Forest of Noise.

Until then, I hope you’re going well :) by @andrewkeher

Temu Dave Grohl has spoken.

Seriously though, I know it sounds flippant, but if you want to survive and thrive as a wedding photographer in 2026 and beyond, it’s time to flip the mindset on marketing yourself.

You are allowed to promote yourself.

Stop fucking worrying about what other photographers are going to think about your posts.

Most of the time they’re not even watching, if they do see one they’ll forget it after 5 seconds anyway because our attention spans are absolutely ruined, and if they DO leave a mean comment… that’s what the block button is for.

Mindset is what gets you through the Forest of Noise.

You’ve got this.

See you in episode 4. by @andrewkeher

I spent a long time pretending to be the photographer I wasn’t.

“Faking it till you make it” is certainly one way to get your business up and running but it’s NOT the only way, especially in 2026 and beyond, and especially if you’re struggling with building a personal brand.

I’m absolutely convinced that a far more powerful way to build a new photography business (or to revitalise an existing one) is sharing the journey, process, peaks and troughs, fuck-ups and victories.

MAKE IT, till you make it.

That’s what I’m doing here too. This is only episode 2 and I can already see I’m a bit shit at talking. I constantly lose track of what I wanted to say.

That’s why my 1 hour webinars are 4 hours long 🤣

I’ve been warning people for a while that this was coming. I’ve spent 2+ years building this photography community of misfits and lonely wanderers. It’s time to start bringing it together.

Episode 1 isn’t going to set the world on fire but you have to start somewhere! I’m not letting perfectionism and imposter syndrome stop me this time. I’m posting, and whether this gets 10 views or 100, the post is the win.

My goal is to eventually reach episode 300 of The Brand Inn, a series where I’m going to explore every aspect of being a wedding photographer, from the photography itself to making it all work as a business without losing our f*cking minds in the Forest of Noise.

If you’ve been to one of my workshops you know I call this the journey from Obscurity to Renown.

And The Brand Inn is the cosy corner where it all starts.

This isn’t for everyone. If your photography is amazing and you have a robust business and you’re dominating social media, you’re way ahead. This series is mostly for the person I used to be 3 years ago. The photographer who was feeling more than a bit down on life.

Anyway. We’ll see where it all goes.

Thank you for getting this far.

I’ve had a little bit of a social media break.

It’s good for morale.

Big things (big for me, anyway) are happening this year and I’m excited to share them soon. All the stuff I’ve been building towards over the last two years is finally, hopefully, reaching the point where I can go all-in on my photography education adventure. Helping other photographers build their personal brands in The Brand Inn, do social media a bit better, be “better” wedding photographers (whatever that means), and to help them beat the Forest of Noise... which seems to be growing denser by the day... holy fuck has this industry been full of loud opinions lately 🤣

And you’re all invited to join me for the journey.

There are a lot of new faces here since me and Josh Huggett broke the photography internet a couple of weeks ago with a silly 15,000,000 view reel that only really made sense to the people who already know us. Welcome! To everyone else, no, we aren’t a gay couple and no, Josh didn’t leave his family to be with me. Well he did, but only for a couple of days while we hosted a workshop retreat in the UK. You can stop telling me to repent now. But I hope you decide to stick around and enjoy my odd little corner of the wedding industry.

Go well! And don’t look at the camera.

My friends at @pictime_us asked if I would help announce their exciting new 2.0 update in a style keeping with the “elegance and refinement of their brand”, and to “showcase the major improvements across the platform”, and make sure to mention the “huge upgrade to the entire gallery delivery experience”.

I said I still haven’t finished figuring out all the buttons from version 1.0 yet

Yes I’ve been using it for 6 years, but I’m only human 🫠

It’s happening!

Two days to hone your photography, your brand, and your business at a workshop unlike any other in the wedding photography world.

You probably already know how to shoot weddings. The tough part is building a business around that work in a market that feels crowded, noisy, and harder than ever to stand out in.

This is for wedding photographers who want stronger work, better marketing, clearer positioning, and a business that feels more [buzzword incoming] intentional.

Over two days in the Peak District, we will deliver sessions to help you grow from multiple angles: creativity, branding, content, sales, confidence, and attracting the right couples.

I’ll speak about personal branding, social media, storytelling, creativity, and the long-term mindset needed to succeed.

Josh will teach business growth, sales, pricing, confidence, client filtering, Facebook ads, and lead generation, with a direct approach to turning attention into bookings.

We’re not going to dazzle you with a portfolio of lazy luxury styled shoots to trick you into thinking we know what we’re talking about. We’re going all-in, raw & unfiltered 🫠

You will leave with clearer thinking, practical ideas, more confidence, and a better understanding of how photography, business, and branding support each other.

Alongside the sessions, there’ll be Q&As, discussion, and time to network with other attendees.

And best of all, we’ll also be heading to the pub in the evenings to network even harder.

Comment SANDWICH for the tickets.

Two years ago I contemplated selling my cameras and giving up the photography dream because, being brutally honest, I was a complete and utter failure at marketing my business.

Two years later, I’m invited by @adobe to speak on their stage at the @thephotographyshow

My talk was about doing stuff that makes you happy. Not very groundbreaking, I know. And not very technical, considering where I was :)

But I think people enjoyed it. I did, anyway. And that was kind of the theme of the whole talk.

Never underestimate the power of being yourself. Even if you’re a bit of a dork like me.

Thank you to everyone who came and listened and stopped to ask questions afterwards. And thank you for not stealing my laptop after I finished and walked off in a buzz of excitement and adrenaline.

Thank you @pketron and the team for having me along :)

Now, that’s all done, but there’s no time to relax. I have a two-day UK workshop gathering to plan with that bloke @imjoshhuggett. It’s happening in two months and we haven’t even sorted the sandwich options. by @andrewkeher
