happy 10th anniversary to big cymbal!

you cracked almost immediately when you came into my life, nearly too big for this world, yet i have steadfastly and haphazardly ground away your rough edges, prolonging the inevitable that we all face as embodied beings

youve completely obscured my face for thousands of shows, sat patiently in a case for hundreds of thousands of miles, and taught me immeasurable lessons about balance, tension, imperfection, and ultimately: expression

when nothing but a shard remains, ill carry you with me yet by @andrewwhodrums

Daphne Tunes Volume D out today
absolutely glad to have been playing music with this crew for many years

most of the drums done in LA,

i remember rolling in fresh from west tx, grabbing the sticks off the kit and getting “answer” down in 2 takes. santi had sent us voice memos of just the guitar parts, no lyrics

as always many laughs and sweet times, finding out again and again how amazing and thoughtful santi is, as a songwriter, a brother, a friend, and a father. im so happy and proud to be a part of his and amanda and esmes family, and in a family with pete, josh, laura, sam, and all their loved ones.

never forget: joanna newsom is steampunk

upon further reflection, i stand by my categorization: the reaction against technology indicates the existence of technology, and that is the crux of #steampunk by @andrewwhodrums
