The visuals only tell part of the story.

The voices say the rest.

BEHIND THE VISOR was built around the real experiences of the jousters themselves and their honesty about the tension, focus and physical reality of modern jousting became the foundation of the entire film.

What you hear in Behind the Visor isn't scripted, it's real lived experience.

It goes without saying that my latest film Behind the Visor would be nothing without the stellar contributions from these incredible individuals.

BEHIND THE VISOR is my cinematic short film exploring the reality of modern jousting from inside the armour.

Built around the voices of the jousters themselves, my film focuses on tension, impact and the moments before and after they charge down the list. Taking the viewer right into the heart of a tournament!

Filmed behind the scenes at this year's Royal Armouries Museum Easter Joust.

Directed, filmed, edited and scored by me 😁

We worked out, that it had been nearly thirty years since we last crossed swords and it's been a lot of fun.
