Why are we still treating High Lift and bleach like they’re on opposing fucking teams? 😂

Summer blondes don’t always need a full head of bleach foils.

Sometimes it’s about using High Lift where we want softer, more natural lift and bleach where we need that extra brightness.

Two tools. One colour. Smarter placements.

This is exactly what we’ll be exploring in my February Summer High Lift class.

My grandmother was a talented romany Gypsy card reader and came from a long line of them

Years later I know what she meant. You have to be comfortable being alone with yourself in order not to give a fuck what others think. Because your mind will be more horrible to you than anyone else can

Bleach isn’t always the smartest choice anymore. 👀

And with summer coming, I reckon it’s time we started thinking about where High Lift Tint could fit into our blonde work.

I’m not saying ditch the bleach. Fuck no. 😂

I’m saying sometimes the best result comes from knowing when to use High Lift, when to use bleach, and when to use both.

Less unnecessary lightening, smarter placements and beautiful commercial colour.

My Summer High Lift class is coming in February, where we’ll dive deeper into combining both techniques, managing warmth and making better colour decisions behind the chair.

So why bleach instead of High Lift Tint? 👀

Because we had box dye sitting underneath. High Lift isn’t designed to reliably lift through artificial colour, so I needed bleach to help break through that old pigment and get me to the canvas I needed.

Not because bleach is better than High Lift — it was simply the better tool for this hair.

High Lift and bleach aren’t competing. The skill is knowing when you need each one. by @andy_arthurandrew
