For one Bengal, a little midday doomscrolling started a journey he never expected 🛷🐯🏅

Andy Whittier is an ISU graduate and football athlete alumni who thought his athletic career was over. However, after an ad for USA Bobsled-Skeleton team tryouts came across his feed, Andy’s life took an unexpected turn.
He was invited to try the sport and start training. Then, just 2 years ago after a lot of hard work and dedication, Andy was offered the opportunity to train on the US Olympic Skeleton team full time.

As this year’s Olympics approached, Andy hadn’t even considered the possibility of already being able to compete. However, he was only hundredths of a second away from qualifying to go, and looks forward to continuing his journey and one day hitting the Olympic track.

The past 16 weeks tested me in a way I did not expect. I am grateful for the opportunity and experience. You make the most of the situations you put yourself in. Short term sacrifice for a long term gain is a driving mindset.
