We lost my Mom about a month ago. She had respiratory failure as a result of a myriad of lung issues. She was just 65 years old, the same age as my dad when he passed. I’ve been trying to find the words to express my multitude of emotions. I understand grief is a part of life we all must go through, but man is it tough. I feel so incredibly grateful for the almost 40 years on this earth I got to spend with her, but it somehow doesn’t seem like enough. Words will never fully encompass how lucky I have been to have been raised by such a wonderful woman. Someone who showed me unconditional love in every stage of my life. Someone who taught me about the importance of family, faith, values, resilience, responsibility, kindness,respect for yourself and others. We truly could talk about anything together, and we did! My mom is where I first discovered my love of music and my talent for the stage. For anyone who may not know, she was nicknamed the “First Lady of Blues” and “Proud Mary” in Western Maryland; the latter for her famous rendition of the Tina Turner classic. In fact, the background music in this video is her singing! We both loved being in the audience for each other’s performances and even got to share the stage several times. She always lived in Cumberland, but had a spirit for adventure and loved to travel. One of her favorite places was the beach- and specifically the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We’re going to be spreading her ashes on Jeanette’s Pier, where my grandmother also is. Two quotes she lived by were “Family strong” and “If you don’t sing your song, who will?” I will carry those words into action for the rest of my life and always cherish the abundance of memories we made. We are so blessed with an amazing family to lean on in times of sorrow and in times of joy. Realized my grad school update never made it here to the gram, so here you go ✅ I am now halfway to my masters degree of Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute. When I started this program, I truly didn’t know how I would do it. Juggling school with my full time job @atg_entertainment producing shows on the side @bound4bway and trying to have a social life have taught me so much about time management, self care, and focusing on what’s really important. I haven’t been on the socials much besides the occasional check-in. It’s been kind of wonderful / strange to catch up with people in real life and getting to have genuine and authentic catch up conversations about what’s going on...Cause if you only posted it online and didn’t tell me about it, I probably don’t know! I’ve already learned so much from my grad school experience...Things like: -Creating and managing a budget from scratch for a theatre (and doing three year projections)-Managing success from a triple bottom line (people, planet, and profit)-How to lead teams through innovation and change from a high level perspective-Why arts and culture are vital to the economic prosperity of thriving communities-Why accessibility matters in the arts and how to implement it-How AI is changing the world and what we can do about it, while maintaining our moral and ethical obligations (Yes, it can be used in theatre! Yes, humans still get to make the rules!)-How to market to and get your message across to target audiences ...and so much more.And one of my favorite things are: my fellow classmates! We’re a small cohort of arts leaders from all over the world: Nigeria, India, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, China, the UK, and Mexico. This has incredibly broadened my perspective as everyone brings their own unique artistic background to the program. Now we’re heading into Summer semester, followed by Fall, and Spring. Thrilled to share with you that the Lyric Theatre on Broadway has a new Customer Experience Director.I’m honored to step into this role and lead an extraordinary team at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child @cursedchildus — a production that proves every night that theatre isn’t just entertainment…it’s transformation.The past two years at The Book of Mormon @bookofmormon at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre have been among the most rewarding of my theatre management career. The success we built there was only possible because of my phenomenal colleagues who set the bar high, made the work joyful, and reminded me why I love this industry. While I’ll miss my O’Neill family dearly, I’m only six blocks away — Broadway is big, but our community is tight.This next chapter feels especially meaningful as I continue graduate studies in Arts & Cultural Management at Pratt @prattinstitute — sharpening my strategy, deepening my leadership skills, and intentionally leveling up. 2016 you were a vibe! 💅🏻 I kinda love this trend. Happy New Year! 🎆 We rang in 2026 at the @newyorkmarriottmarquis overlooking Times Square. What a party 🎉 Reflecting back, 2025 was pretty good to me. With everything going on in the world, sometimes it can be difficult to find the light. But I will always choose to live in gratitude for the abundance of gifts we have been given. Blessings to God!
