Last weekend I went for a long, silly walk.
All for an ice cream.

I’ve noticed that it’s fashionable these days to talk BIG DATA & STATISTICS.

So here goes:

- Fastest 400m : 71s (FlégeĢ€re)
- Fastest 1km: 3:44 (km 2)
- Slowest 1km: 20:31 (km 145, after Trient)
- Fastest 5km: 20:06 (first 5k)
- Total time spent at assisted aid stations: 14m20s
- Total time running: 12h24m07s
- Total time walking: 8h13m08s (so it’s a 40% walk then!)
- Total time stationary: 22m45s
- Total time spent dreaming of ice cream: 20h59m58s
- Number of rice puddings eaten en-route: 3
- Number of smashed elites overtaken: 33 (52nd at St Gervais, 19th at the finish)

Results evolution over the years:
- 2026 : 19th (20h59m)
- 2024 : 24th (23h38m)
- 2022 : 11th (22h24m)
- 2019 : 5th (22h35m)
- 2017 : 16th (22h36m)
- 2016 : DNF

Some are in it for the money.
I’m in it for the ice cream.
And for a good time with friends and family.

Thanks for all the support out there 😘

ANDY SYMONDS šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§

174 km.
9,700 m of elevation.
20:59:58.

19th at UTMB Mont-Blanc 2026.

A relentless journey through the mountains, from the first climb to the final descent.

Experience, patience and an uncompromising mindset — pushing forward when the body starts asking to stop.

One race. One mountain. One direction.

Still moving.

Making every second count.

155 km into the race, @andysymonds kept things efficient at the Vallorcine aid station: fresh flasks, food, fluids and fuel for the final stretch. With his wife and crew working seamlessly around him, everything was ready when he needed it.

And just like that, back on the trail!

Built on experience.

On his 6th loop around Mont-Blanc, @andysymonds trusted his pace, stayed patient, and kept everything under control.

Steady from the start, he turned experience into strength in the second half of the race, picking off runner after runner as the kilometres ticked by.

A smart, solid performance earned him P19 in 20:59:58 - a new personal best on the course.

And of course, the ice cream on the finish line was worth the effort!
