The current writing projects that are burning my soul. Hopefully one day soon I get to do nothing but write! You'll see some historically inspired fantasy and some retellings.

Sunday Slowdown...wish I could follow this advice every day.

Today I'm writing while it rains outside, but just taking a moment to feed the algorithm. by @anemoia.author

I'm so sad! Did you know about this little feature? They added too much AI stuff and now they took our ducks. Ugh.

Are you like me and love women holding swords? Women using their fists? Women who are badass fighters?

Then you'll love Invictus Shakes, my work in progress. It's a drama and slice of life series about gladiators where all is fair in love and war. It has plenty of everthing:

⚔️ Action and blood sport
⚔️ Found family
⚔️ Romantic subplots
⚔️ Plenty of banter
⚔️ Drama and trauma
⚔️ Alternative history/historical accuracy
⚔️ Secrets of the gods

Hate to ask if I'm alone in struggling to do this...

The one bed trope oh how I love you. Célise puts up an argument but not for long...the bed looks too soft. Softer than anything she's ever seen in the village.

⚜️

The Ghost Before Me, the first book in a dark fantasy romance series inspired by the French Revolution, is ready for beta readers (recommendations welcome!).

Célise is a peasant who's lost everything to the nobles and their magic. And Alexandre is a thief who wants to find somewhere and someone he can belong to.

But in a world where magic belongs to those in power, power is cruel, and death is capricious...is love worth the risk?

What would your characters say? My gladiators certainly have some words...

⚔️

Invictus Shakes is a series in progress about Max who opens a smoothie shop for gladiators. The realm is piece of ancient Rome pulled out of space and time by the gods, and life as they know it changes when new places start appearing.

It has plenty of action, banter, drama, and trauma with romantic subplots centered around found family. Plus a ton of research for historical accuracy. Follow for more as I plan to start publishing in spring 2027!

Uhhh ignore the typo on the last slide lol. Have you defined your content pillars? I'm super curious what you've decided on! And at the very least, enjoy some pretty pictures during your scrolling. 💛

A little bit—okay, a lot—of everything! Invictus Shakes is a series that's a slowburn progression of plot and character development (and romance!).

⚔️ Historical fantasy
⚔️ Slice of life
⚔️ Drama
⚔️ Action
⚔️ Romantic subplots

If found family, trauma, banter, and a little blood and death are your thing, follow along while I write this series!
