MEET THE FOUNDER & CURATOR 'Curator' is a big word. And it has a nice ring to it. I like it. But while it all seems rather glamorous, I am also an exhibition producer, installer, graphic designer, social media manager, administrator, photographer, accountant, copywriter, PR, shoulder to cry on and everything else in between. It's a rollercoaster with a water feature and some fireworks. Why do I do it? My objective is simple: to foster an appreciation for contemporary ceramics and encourage investment in the works of Australian artists. I firmly believe in the inherent value of owning handcrafted pieces that encapsulate the artist's passion, purpose, and unique voice. It's also about embracing mindful consumption - acquiring quality artworks that can be cherished for years, while making a positive impact. You can enhance your living environment and, at the same time, contribute to the development of a thriving artistic community. 'INTERCONNECTED' 17 ARTISTS | 5 STATES | 34 UNIQUE CERAMIC WORKS. Digital catalogue via Link in Bio. Anfisa is proud to present 'Interconnected,' a curated ceramic art exhibition that explores the relationship of art, craft, and design, while pushing the boundaries of ceramic craftsmanship. The exhibition took place at PS Art Space in October 2023, offering a captivating exploration of contemporary ceramics through the works of 17 artists across Australia. Each carefully selected artist has been commissioned to present a relationship between two distinct bodies of work within the same medium - a functional sculpture and a complementary wall piece that connect and converse with each other. Participating artists have been given full freedom of conveyed message, form, colour and technique. The showcased works are bound only by the requirement that they effortlessly integrate into everyday life, while authentically embodying each artist's unique voice. Hello beautiful people. I have some exciting news: I recently joined FORM as a Senior Arts & Cultural Consultant, looking after Public Art and Engagement projects across WA and interstate.  The FORM team is dedicated to enriching the broader community, using creativity as a catalyst to generate economic opportunities while enhancing connection to place and local pride through cultural maintenance and artistic expression. We work to build a cultural and creative ecology that values artistic excellence, improves arts access for all, and encourages the development of resilient and vibrant communities. Fremantle Design Week returns to port October 18 - 25. I am thrilled to work alongside Pippa Hurst, FDW Creative Director and the @designfreo team to bring the design week to life for its second iteration. The theme for FDW 2024 is transition. 'NIGHT' | Ceramic wall piece by Lauren Joffe. This sculpture was made thinking about night and darkness, and how subtle changes take place at night in the ways we interact with each other. 'STREAK' by anfisa artist Victoria Martínez Zurbano. Victoria's work seamlessly merges traditional South American hand-building prehispanic techniques with contemporary design elements. She achieves this by contrasting forms, textures, and the interplay of shadows. This piece is one of my favourites.
