last tuesday (17th) was the two year anniversary of thomas and i calling melbourne home 🤎 looooove it so much!!! interestingly though, we’ve now left 🤣 but will definitely be back later! living in our van and travelling around the rest of australia is going to be challenging (oh my god, the flies…) but so rewarding 😇 we’ve spent the last week in victoria, and tomorrow we’re crossing the border to south australia! i’m sooo excited to see new birds and other creatures along the way, and thomas just wants to swim at all the beaches 🤪 here’s to pink sunsets, big smiles, and two-minute noodles! …and low petrol prices!!! 🙌📸🥂🪅💟 by @angel175

had a whirlwind of fun back in nz with the family for two weeks 🥰 there were quick trips to hobbiton, whanganui, and a few different plant shops! we had been so busy that there wasn’t a lot of relaxing really… but we wouldn’t change it at all!!! we’ve done a lot of socialising, though still missed out on seeing some friends and family unfortunately. ahh two weeks isn’t enough time 💔 my favourite part was spending time outside in the garden with mum and her chickens 😁🧡😋 by @angel175

we took it easy this december 🧘‍♀️😌🥭🩷 especially since i started the month off with being sick, AGAIN 😤👎 there were a couple of really hot days so we did some swimming of course! 😄🏊‍♀️ i miss my animals and doing christmas photoshoots every year. the last two years i’ve thought about doing one with just thomas and i, but then i get sad so it hasn’t happened yet 😿💔 we were able to go camping last week (yay) - tested out some of the new modifications thomas did to the van, enjoyed some sausages in bread, and went for a long walk to an eel farm (didn’t see any though 🤷‍♀️). it has been really cool to document our months of 2025, and i’m super pleased with all the things we’ve done and seen 🥹 it has been an unforgettable year for us, and we can certainly keep it up. bring on 2026!!! 🌠🏖️🫂🥏🦈🗺️ by @angel175

november was really beautiful 🥹🤍 we made it to the other side of the world to experience two really awesome tours of the uk & ireland, and a few countries in europe. it was thomas’ first time flying out of nz/australia, and my second 😁🤩 i could go on about this trip but i’ll keep it short 😅 one of the highlights was the food we ate in italy (especially for thomas as a coeliac) 🍕🍝🥪🍰🍨🤤 only a few days of the month were rainy, and it had varying degrees of cold, so our jackets and warm gear stayed on most of the time🧣🧤⛄️ one of my favourite things was seeing all the different birds, even though there were the a lot of the same ones in most countries. also SQUIRRELS! so cool 🤗 we leave for home on the 3rd - being away for a month has been so great but i miss my bed 😜 by @angel175

october felt like a slow month 🐢 before stephen flew home, we made sure to show him some our fave eating spots, and the beauty of st kilda and the beaches all the way down to frankston. it’s been fun hosting my family this year 😁🛫👋 i had bronchitis for a couple of weeks so that was lame haha, and so unfortunately we didn’t go camping this month (and won’t for the rest of the year 🥲). instead we went on a couple of walks to see some birds, helped my work with their renovations along with megan and kaz, and got a few things in order for next month 💪😋😉🥳 by @angel175

how cold and windy was september?! 🌬️😯 the weather has been pretty up and down all of this month, so of course it has to end warm but rainy 😂 camping was super successful - check out the firewood haul (i was very proud of it 😁). saw many beautiful flowers in bloom, and i made sure to go to the dandenong botanical gardens this year! 🪻🌻🌷 and stephen arrived on the 26th to stay for a week! we did a big walk in the city on saturday, and had some yummy food 🍨🫐🌯 by @angel175

lovely august 🩵 we walked along a couple of trails, started listening to nz radio again (thanks thomas’ apple music!), and ate lots of noodles. i’m so pleased with my bird shots this month, i got a few good ones! 📸😁 on the way to our camp spot 4ish hours away, we saw sooo many lambs with their wiggly tails! very cute, as is seeing little bits of green on branches - i’m excited for spring!!! 🌹🌞🙈 unfortunately, i got sick last week so still trying to get over that, bit of a bad ending to the month, oh well! by @angel175

july, you were gorgeous! ✈️🎈🧁🐍😙 for our birthday trip we flew to alice springs - one of my favourite parts was holding an olive python also called angel 🥰 since i finally got my australian (victorian) license on the 1st, i was able to drive the rental car! 🤩 the orange landscape was honestly so mesmerising, we’ll be back one day! ☀️🦋🦘 we said goodbye to another one of thomas’ vehicles - swapping the ute for a van 🥺 spent one weekend laying down the flooring and installing drawers. he certainly has heaps of room for his tools now lol. he also got some new glasses! and of course we went camping… i’m not sorry that i’m obsessed with it 😂 to relax in nature watching the birds, foraging for sticks, and tending to the fire is the best, especially when you get a little rain sprinkle! by @angel175

june was a good month 🤎😋🤠🐦‍⬛🪾 camped for the long weekend in a really lovely spot with a nice chill temperature, had lots of fun watching the birds - especially the magpies and kookaburras arguing over our lunch scraps! woke up early one saturday and climbed up a mountain to see the sunrise 🌅✨ nana and poppa made a detour home from their trip in europe to spend some time with us in melbourne. it was a wonderful way to end the month 🏟️🦆🫶🍝🚃 by @angel175

may was marvellous 🎆💞 lots of cool things happened this month: saw lots of birdies, including some i’ve never seen before 🤩🪶 had a video call date with cristina where i got to watch her get a septum piercing, and vice versa! it was an interesting experience 😂💜 went camping again and it was sooo cold this time 😅😜🥶❄️ i’ve had to convince thomas to let us camp in the winter - we just need to prepare a bit better and keep that camping-once-a-month streak going! also had a lovely catch up with my ex-tutor lindsay 💚 and my parents came to stay for a week, and that was jam-packed full of fun activities and food 🍟🛍️🌃🌞 it was a busy month indeed 🙌😊🥰🍁 by @angel175

april was a chill month (pun intended - really loved the 17-21 degree weather!!). for easter we drove over 6 hours northwest to a cute town called mildura, where we camped next to the river which borders nsw. lots of doggies around which was nice! we swam, ate, walked, etc, just took it slow like we always do when we go camping 😄🌤️ had a couple of cute date nights after work, went on short walks at the park, and watched lots of tv (we’ve been so excited for the second seasons of the last of us and andor). and i’m very much enjoying the leaves on the trees changing to yellow/orange/red 😍🌈🤗 i love nature lol by @angel175

what a way to kick off march - seeing green day for the first time in concert! 🎶 the video doesn’t do the actual experience justice. we’ve been lucky enough to see the concerts of some of our favourite artists in the last six months! i unfortunately am not good at filming them, but having a good time is more important to me 😄 anyway, this month was productive, lots of swimming and seeing waterfalls! camped again in the weekend just gone, this time 4ish hours away from home ⛺️😍 it was very peaceful, a great way to end the month ☺️🌀✌️😴 by @angel175
