I missed taking pictures with so many people I love, and I wish I had captured more of those moments. But some of the most beautiful memories aren’t captured in photos—they’re simply felt and carried with us. 💜

This Homecoming weekend reminded me that while time passes, buildings change, and life takes us in different directions, some bonds never fade. The laughter, the stories, the hugs, the “remember when” moments—and being surrounded by people who shared such an important chapter of my life—were priceless.

We came to Morris Brown to get an education, but we left with so much more. So over the weekend I did a thing after returning from New York. I hopped on a plane… to watch may cousin get married in Edmonton, Canada in a First Nation Cree & American style wedding. Happy Ever Afters are real. On Juneteenth two people came together in a harmonious union. They incorporated both cultures during the wedding ceremony creating a deeply rooted foundation. The best part is not only is our family even bigger but we got to meet a new addition to our family our baby cousin “Layla”. I also got to do a couple things after fighting off the killer mosquitoes we went to Elk Village as I was in search of buffaloes the bison are all I got 😂 oh and we saw Canada goose. Congressional Black Caucus Week in Washington, DC is how I’m closing out my month. From my successfully executed reception with the help of the CBCF. I hope I did my colleagues proud 💙.
