Im sure these glasses look bigger in this photo than they actually are. I hope so! On holiday in Cornwall and decided to go to @rockoysterfestival to see @natashacarthewofficial and Sylvia Patterson and discovered the best music tent! Bob YT @tilyyates is playing literally all of my favourite tracks. I’m getting the heebie geebies from all the straw hats but he is soothing my soul. Thanks! by @angelaallancomms

Courttia Newland’s new book is described by Diana Evans as “a work of substance and integrity that will rank among his best.” I think it’s interesting that Courttia says Black people are usually left out of conversations about working class writing, which is true. Another example of ghettoisation. I’m looking forward to reading - and learning - from this. 🙏👏 by @angelaallancomms

Reading Benbecula, @graememacraeburnet reimagining of a murder on a remote Scottish island, on a remote Scottish island, in a spooky, spidery cottage. #scottishheateave 🤣💦 by @angelaallancomms

This is what I like to see. An author hard at work promoting his book. Congrats to @rupertwolfemurray for the publication of his new book which has a thing or two to teach young people looking for work - and writing - in an AI world. Rupert is the son of Stephanie Wolfe Murray who founded @canongatebooks where I once worked. His mother told him not to go into publishing. “You’ll never make any money.” She was right. But keep writing. 👏 by @angelaallancomms

A publicist’s job is never boring. Organising a rave for @graeme_armstrong_booksnthat for his new novel Raveheart was fun and an example of how to take the book directly to the audience. Not everyone will go to a traditional book launch. Thanks to the DJs, @sw3g and @waterstones.argylestreet and @waterstonesglasgowfort for going the extra mile to make this a huge success both in terms of creating a genuine buzz and selling books. #raveheart #bookofthesummer by @angelaallancomms

Really enjoyed seeing David Keenan @reversediorama at @paisleybookfest talking about his book Boyhood. Such an entertaining and joyous man, full of wit and wonder about the world. I’m sure the book will be the same when I get round to reading it. Looking forward to seeing him again at covenanza_official with @whiterabbitbks and @leebrackstone10 💃📙🐇 by @angelaallancomms

Finally getting round to posting about the wonderful @paisleybookfest. First time I’ve been and I was really impressed. Such a great programme of amazing Scottish writers including these lot @kirstin.innes @graeme_armstrong_booksnthat @jenni_fagan and @mrdamianbarr who was so fabulous he sprouted his very own rainbow. I was there with @graeme_armstrong_booksnthat for his very first event about his new book Raveheart, which we are officially calling ‘1984 meets Human Traffic.’ It’s out on 4th June and we’re launching with a rave at SW3G the night before. It seems like my raving days are never going to be over. I will literally ‘rave to the grave’ 🤣. I guess there are worse ways to go! by @angelaallancomms

A rave for a book launch? YES!!! @graeme_armstrong_booksnthat new book Raveheart is a “high NRG look at modern Britain through the eyes of a band of rave rebels.” It’s such fun working on this book and the launch with Graeme. A really good example of how the author knows his audience and how to connect with them. I love working creatively and directly with my authors. Especially when I get to relive my youth. 🤪 by @angelaallancomms

I am so enjoying working on the campaign for Ripening, the new book by Dr Sharon Blackie, author of the wonderful Hagitude, among others. In Sharon’s own words, “Fairytale heroines find a way to survive, and even thrive in dangerous times because of who they are - the qualities and values that define them - as well as what they do…we need fairytales now. Not to indulge in escapism, but to understand the deepest rooted strengths of the human psyche in the face of existential challenge.” It’s serendipitous that the book coincides with the fairytales exhibition at the @britishlibrary and fairytales season across the BBC. It’s time to go deep into the woods. #fairytales by @angelaallancomms
