March 25, 1995. 🗝️

Somewhere in the vault, there's a jar holding this day — the day a 15-year-old sat down and first wrote about the Time Fairies.

A high school creative writing assignment became a short story about fairies who protected the days of history — and that story never really left me. Thirty-some years later, it became *Time Fairies: The Vault Beneath the Stairs*.

Swipe to meet the girl who started it all. ✨

Book One is out now in paperback — link in bio. Book Two is on its way.

The questions kids ask are always my favorite part of a school visit 🧚🗝️

Last time, I got these three:

"How did you come up with the idea for your book?"
I first imagined this story as a high school creative writing student — more than 30 years ago. Piper, Winderly, and the vault beneath the stairs stayed with me all that time, waiting to become the adventure they were meant to be.

"How long did it take you to write it?"
About 30 years of dreaming… and about a year and a half of actual writing. Some stories just wait until you're ready for them.

"Where can I get your book?"
My favorite question of all. Time Fairies: The Vault Beneath the Stairs is out now in paperback — link in bio.

Teachers and librarians — what do your students always ask visiting authors?

500 of you. 🧚✨

When I started this page, Time Fairies was a story I'd been carrying since high school, and I quietly wondered if anyone else would ever care about Piper, a tiny door, and a vault of days.

500 readers, teachers, librarians, parents, and fellow dreamers later — you care. You show up for school visits, book news, and peeks inside the vault, and every comment and share helps this little book find the kids it was meant for.

From the bottom of my heart: thank you for being here at the beginning. Book Two is on its way, and I can't wait to show you what's behind the next door. 🗝️

New here? Welcome to Winderly. Book One is out now in paperback — comment VAULT and I'll DM you the link!

My 11-year-old made this for me on her Cricut. 🧚

Dylan got her Cricut for her birthday yesterday, and her very first real project was a time fairy — for my laptop. The official laptop of the Time Fairies series is now properly decorated.

She's eleven and already making magic. ✨

What's the best thing your kid has ever made for you? I need to hear these stories. 👇

I'm Angela Hicks, and this is Time Fairies: The Vault Beneath the Stairs — a middle grade fantasy about hidden vaults, living history, and a magical mystery that's been waiting 100 years to be solved.

I first imagined this story in high school, more than 30 years ago. It took about a year and a half of writing to finally bring Piper's adventure to life — and now Book Two is on its way.

Perfect for readers who love fantasy with a little real history tucked inside.

Save this for your next bookshop trip, and follow along for Book Two news, school visits, and more peeks inside the vault 🫙🗝️
