Last week you chose a power to wield, and when a witch channels, their familiar isn’t too far behind. So time to pick! What or who is your familiar? 🤔

You will need both for what’s to come...

5 facts about me that become 🚩 when I’m writing

We all have these, right?? It’s not just me??

P.S. I only learned I could lie BECAUSE my facial expressions betray me so much. If my boss asks why I’m looking like he just said the dumbest thing ever (he was), ya girl gotta pivot QUICK

Witches of Cambridge - Alice Hoffman

By the 1950s, Cambridge, Massachusetts feels far removed from the legendary witch trials that marked its early days as a colony. Ava, a bright young woman from a small town in Maine, arrives for her first year at Radcliffe College. There, she meets Lauren, her opposite in every way—the wild and brazen daughter of a wealthy and well-established Cambridge family. But the two have more in common than they think. Both are recruited by the Lilith Society, a secret organization of witches at Radcliffe dating back to colonial times. As they learn more about their legacy, Ava and Lauren form a close bond that is put to the test as they learn to navigate their new power, friendship, and love.

While Radcliffe seems like a safe haven, the shadow of McCarthyism looms large, an ever-present threat to the flourishing creative and intellectual life in Cambridge. And as girls from the Lilith Society begin to go missing, Ava and Lauren realize the witch trials of the past may not be as deeply buried as they once believed.

Tempest - Victoria Aveyard

Cat Rose knows what it is to live in two worlds, in two times. Before—as Lady Catrine of the Meridian Empire, chained to a loathsome lord with a dwindling fortune. And after—as the Widow Rose, queen of a pirate tavern in the Lyrian Sea, determined to be the master of her own fate.

But tides turn and winds change. The Meridian Empire looms on the horizon, the full weight of her navy falling on the Lyrian, bent on reclaiming the wealthy colonies and crushing the pirate republic once and for all. Ship after ship is captured, save for one captain who continuously evades both noose and blade: the legendary Valerian Kane.

With his fearsome ship and uncanny connection to the song of the sea, Valerian is the only man who might rally the pirates who remain. The only man who threatens the Empire. And the only man Cat has ever loved, blazing in and out of her life like a star.

Desperate for victory, the Empire offers Cat a devastating choice: bring them by @angelaj.writes

No doubt about it, I’m a portal walker; constantly hopping from one world to another 🤷🏻‍♀️

VERY late to this trend, but better later than never right?

Seeing these put together, it’s no wonder my first book is a fantasy with a mûrder mystery subplot and scenes bordering on horror 😅

Now cha cha real smooth 💃🏻

Good news: the book is off to beta-readers! And while they go through a portal alongside Astra and Naia, going mad looking for clues as to who this damned serial kìller is, I will be travelling to another kingdom entirely and watch as the plot of book 2 unfolds before my eyes.

Copy & line edits are future Angela’s problem.

Cheers ✌🏼
