I don’t count countries, but Sri Lanka — just over 10,000 miles away — is the farthest I’ve ever traveled.

I climbed Sigiriya’s spiral stairwell to 5th-century frescoes, hiked peaks 🌄, rode the blue train through the mountains, made roti over an open fire, played with baby sea turtles, drove a tuk tuk, saw 200+ elephants, chased waterfalls, and heard monks chanting at sunrise.

I picked tea by hand, watched surfers at Arugam Bay 🏄‍♂️, visited the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, got nearly bitten by a snake, and went on safari in search of the elusive leopard. I ate hella curry, drank hella tea, and drank water from a king coconut on the side of the road.

What I’ll remember most are the conversations in between all of this.

200+ elephants. One safari. 🐘✨

This time of year is the Great Migration — when entire herds move together in search of food and water. Seeing it up close was beyond anything I imagined. The scale was unreal, but it was the baby elephants that completely stole my heart. 💕

It’s barely daybreak here in the mountains near Kandy in Sri Lanka and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all the birthday love.🙏Just before sunrise I was awakened by the sound of Buddhist monks chanting — their devotion was so moving, and it felt like the universe reminding me I’m exactly where I need to be.

This picture was taken a few days ago in Sigiriya, floating on a quiet lake with a lily pad hat balanced on my head. It feels like the perfect snapshot of this moment in my life.

This year is my “Eat Pray Love” chapter. To my friends — old and new — who have listened tirelessly, supported me without hesitation, and never gave up on me: I love you. Thank you for walking with me through every messy, beautiful part of this journey.
