Voices in Relation is a 16-month youth leadership and civic engagement program serving Tribal and BIPOC youth and families across San Diego County, led by Indigenous Regeneration, ‘ataaxum Pomkwaan and Un Mar de Colores.

The program is open to all ages and designed to be intergenerational, bringing young people and community members together as storytellers, researchers, and advocates rooted in land, culture, and community.

Here’s what participants can expect:

. Use photography and storytelling to document real issues in your community

. Work alongside peers from across San Diego County

. Learn from Tribal leaders and policy experts

. Learn about the different types of Government and how policy works

. Field trips to ocean, valley, mountain, and desert regions; transportation provided

. Build public speaking, research, and advocacy skills
Present findings to Tribal leadership and regional decision-makers

. Middle school and high school youth who complete the program earn a $1,200 stipend!!!

. The program runs on a monthly virtual schedule with quarterly in-person field experiences.

As we come to the end of our youth sewing workshop, our hearts are full of gratitude.
We’re so thankful for the time we’ve shared with these amazing 3 ladies from Sycuan not only teaching them the art of sewing, but also building relationships, bonding, encouraging one another, and creating a space where they can learn, grow, and express themselves💚
It has been such a joy for us to mentor them, watch their confidence grow, and see their creativity come to life. We’re incredibly proud of Yaya, Bliss and Lylah.
This being our first we are learning as we go but to hear them express how much they enjoyed the workshop made it all worth it!
We’re already looking forward to opening our doors for more workshops, more creativity, more connection, and more memories together.

Phone is full of my vows ill say one day to you, and i wont say them until the day i say i do. We will be standing at the altar for an hour theres that many amazing things i can say about you and our love story.

One of my favorite memories i saved on my phone was an entry of you tightening my seatbelt on the plane when you thought i was sleeping 🥹

This year’s fashion show theme,
“Original Land Protectors,” honors the wisdom passed down through generations in our communities—knowledge rooted in a deep connection to Mother Earth. It is a celebration of how our people have long understood the balance between nature and humanity, learning to live in harmony by respecting the land, the water, and the animals that sustain us. It is not just a cultural practice, but a moral responsibility to safeguard the earth for future generations.
Through this show, we reaffirm our commitment to continue the fight to restore and protect our sacred lands, striving to bring back the harmony that was once lost.”
