I was reading the book of Matthew, and something caught my attention like it never had before. “For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45) People talk a lot about how the rain falls on the just and the unjust, but I never noticed that the line before is says, he allows the sun to rise on the evil and the good. It is a deep and terrible pain to watch those who have harmed you live really blessed and prosperous lives, especially when your life is hard because of their actions. We, like children, think God will set things right in an instant, that he will smite our enemies and cause us to prosper in front of them. In believing that, we sometimes forget that we are all children of God, the person who hurt you is just as much his child as you are, and ultimately, He loves them and wants them to prosper just as much as he wants this for you. (I still struggle with this concept). We are meant to pray for our enemies and the people who have harmed us because if we wish for God to harm them, we are no better than they are. (Romans 12:19) We are all God’s children, He loves us all. He would leave the 99 to save the one who caused you harm because He is a good father. by @angeliece13
Japan was a life changing experience! It was amazing to experience the way different cultures, speaking different languages, come together to worship the Lord! I was shown so much kindness by the people there, and I made new friendships I will cherish for the rest of my life! I am so grateful for the Lee University Symphonic Band and Dr. Bailey. It was an awesome time!! by @angeliece13

I really love hymns, and I think it's important to know them. This one in particular has been on my heart." Love lifted me." I've been reading the first verse a lot. " I was sinking deep in sin Far from the peaceful shore Very deeply stained within Sinking to rise no more But the master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me Now safe am I Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me" While I haven't been sinking in sin, I was sinking in heartbreak. I was really struggling! I had never been in a situation where I couldn't quickly pray my way through and feel better. I felt a heaviness that I couldn't shake and a fear that wouldn't lift, but in my darkest moments, love lifted me. The love of God, my family, and my closest friends lifted me when I didn't think I could stand anymore. I have resonated with Elijah when he was hiding in the cave, and he was paralyzed by fear. God didn't rush him or rebuke him. He was patient with him. I feel like I'm coming out of my "cave season" and reclaiming my voice. I don't understand why people go through tragedies, but I do know that our God loves unconditionally! His intentions for humanity are good, He walks with us and fights for us daily, there is no shame in needing or asking for help, and that all things do work together for good. I'm entering 2026, with hope, grace, compassion, and excitement for what God will do! by @angeliece13
